Distance Learning Q4 Classroom
Expectations
For Computer Concepts and Exploring
Computers Classes
Mrs. Wichman ([email protected])
During this time of at-home Distance Learning, our school
will be online. In our classes, I will try to use apps that we
are already familiar with. This will be very similar to what
you are already accustomed to in your Computer Classes.
Mrs. Wichman’s Teacher Expectations:
I will post assignments daily, by 8:00am. These assignments will be similar to
what you have already done. Assignments will have
instructional videos, along with printed instructions.
Due to daily time restraints, we will skip Warmups, but
if you have extra time, practice your typing!
Everything will be posted in Google Classroom.
All assignments will be graded and go into
PowerSchool. Assignments that are missing will have
the “M” symbol in PowerSchool. Zeroes can be entered in PowerSchool, but if a
student makes up the Q4 assignment, the grade will be changed.
Students will be able to post comments publicly within Google Classroom.
I will do a daily check-in with Google Classroom, whether it’s by text or a pre-
made video (Screencastify).
I will have daily office hours, one hour before lunch,
and one hour in the afternoon, where I will be in front of
the computer, checking Google Classroom and e-mail.
Assignments will still have a due date. Late
assignments within a week of the due date will still be
accepted, however. (Just like in Q3). I will also still
accept assignments from the week of March 9-13 without penalty.
We will be using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Sites) for our
assignments.
If I notice students are not completing their
assignments, I will contact parents via e-mail.
I will follow students’ IEP’s/504’s to the best of my
ability.
I will have makeup opportunities for students that had
a D or F for the Q3 grading period. This will be IN
ADDITION TO Q4 work.
And above all else, I will try to have a positive outlook!
Student Expectations:
Check Google Classroom every week day, for
every class.
If you need to check out a Chromebook, or get
access to the Internet, contact the school district
or school (the school website is a good starting
place)
Complete (and turn in) Class work activities. Read
and follow the directions for the assignments.
Post a comment if you want to communicate with me or your class.
If you are going to post a comment in Google Classroom, remember that it has to
be school appropriate and on topic. If you post
inappropriate comments, you will be “muted” in Google
Classroom, and it will be documented.
If you are missing any earlier assignments from Q4,
make them up.
Check PowerSchool daily to check on grades. (Each grade will go in individually
in PowerSchool-so you don’t have to wait until the end of the week!)
For those 14 students that had a D or F average for Q3,
you will have an opportunity to bring up your average.
You will be assigned new assignments to complete in
Google Classroom to replace low scores/zeroes. I will
not accept late work from Q3. Only the new
assignments, and you must do the Q4 assignments first
in order to qualify for raising your Q3 grade.
And above all, have a positive outlook! Go Phoenix!
