Hello Division 4!

I sincerely hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break

and were able to relax, spend time with their family

and have fun. Time is going by fast – we only have lit-

tle over 3 months until DCON!

Over the next few weeks all of us are going to have

to buckle down and get to work. Exams, new semes-

ter, then DCON, all while holding fundraisers and try-

ing to stay sane. It’s going to be tough, but remem-

ber you have the support of the Key Club community

to help you out.

Caring—Our Way of Life

Hopefully by this time, all clubs have submitted their dues and are on the road to

having a strong and successful second half of the year. Be sure to keep yourself up-

dated with what’s happening in the district by checking out the ECD Facebook

page and the ECD website. With DCON fast approaching, more information is going

to be released in the upcoming months and it’s crucial that clubs know what’s hap-

pening.

KEY-P up the good work and see you all soon!

Yours in service,

Katherine Gall,

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a non-profit organization that raises

money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. All

contributions to CMN go directly to benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equip-

ment, train staff, conduct life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide

health care for children whose parents can’t afford to pay.

More than 170 children's hospitals are affiliated with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

What Key Club does

Kiwanis International was the first

association based sponsor of

Children’s Miracle Network Hos-

pitals, joining the charity as a

partner in 1982. In 1997, Key

Club made Children’s Miracle

Network Hospitals an official

charity of choice for their mem-

bers to support.

In 2009-10 Key Club and the Ki-

wanis family raised almost $1.8 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. For more than

a decade, Key Club International has been supporting CMN Hospitals by sponsoring fund-

raisers and participating in service projects involving CMN Hospitals.

Reflection on Fall Rally

On the last day of November, Division 4 held our Fall Rally in the peaceful town of

Niagara-on-the-Lake. Divided into groups of two, students ran up and down Queen

Street in the vicinity of Simcoe Park taking pictures of downtown for the scavenger

hunt. Between having to take a picture of a team member jumping off a swing

(they had to be in mid-air for the picture to count), to not being able to find a bus

schedule resulting in drawing one in the snow, we had a lot of fun with our scaven-

ger hunt and activities.

We were happy to have our District Governor, Annu, come down and join on the

festivities. But fun doesn’t mean we did not get any work done. In the short hours

that went by too fast, we were able to learn more about the other clubs within our

division, prepare for next year, learn more about the workings of this year’s DCON,

and most importantly, officially establish the Pirate Octopus as Division 4’s Mascot.

Overall, the Fall Rally was a great success and everyone had a lot of fun. However,

before I end this little spew, a shout out to Alicia and Lilia who won the scavenger

hunt and Braeden Corr who was voted the most spirited individual of our division.

Saving the best for last, let us also not forget about the one who did the most for our

division, so let us give a virtual standing ovation to our LG, Katherine, for all the hard

work she has put to make this rally, and our division, a success.
