Engineering Intern at Detox Group of Companies, India Feb’16-Apr’16

Assisted in preparing Environmental Impact Assessment Report of a Hazardous waste landfill site, by developing impact matrix and mitigation measures, in compliance with EIA Notification 2006, India.

Collected biological, geo-hydrological, and socio-economic field data for critical analysis, formulating charts and reports for proposed site of waste landfill for EIA report.

Teamed with engineering department in design and planning of Cyclic activated sludge processes for biological treatment of effluent. Resulting in increase of efficiency by 60% and 50% less power consumption when compared to conventional system.

Conducted sampling and analysis of emissions from ETP, Sewage Treatment Plant(STP) and Hazardous waste leachate as per the “Standard Methods”; compiling and evaluating generated data.

Assisted in collecting and analyzing air samples from an incineration plant stack and procedures involving monitoring Air quality. Assessed design and working efficiency of different air pollution control equipment like Multiple-cyclone, scrubbers, bag filters etc.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Land Use Transformation, University of Houston Dec’16

Performed Land use transformation through ArcGIS Software for the City San Bernardino using conversion and Image analysis as tools. Average of 20% more urbanization was observed over three years (2008-2011-2013).

Critical Review; Advanced Treatment Technologies for Leachate Treatment, University of Houston Dec’16

Different Treatment technologies like Advanced Oxidation Process combined with Biological Treatment, Membrane technologies like Nano filtration, Reverse Osmosis were studied and analyzed for its effectiveness in terms of treatment and cost.

Comparative growth of plants with respect to sewage, vermin-filtrated, Tap and bio-filtrated water, CHARUSAT May’15

Examined the Physiological growth of plants and its contribution to NPK value of soil. Vermi-filtrated and Bio-sand filtered water gave 15% better results than others.

Proposed output results with cost evaluation to associations involved in agricultural activities to optimize their agricultural growth and yield.

Disposal of Chemical and Hazardous waste and its Alternatives in University Campus, CHARUSAT Mar’15

Lead team project in identifying diverse ways to dispose chemical waste. Summarized and presented its alternatives like safe storage, reuse/recycle and transportation to infrastructure management department of university campus.
