    Notes:

At the beginning of each fiscal year, all DC government agencies are asked to develop a performance plan. The performance plan describes nenitiatives that improve the quality of agency services and highlights metrics, called Key Performance Indicators (KPI), that meaningfully gauge

agency progress against goals. Agency progress throughout the fiscal year can be monitored by the public by using DC.gov/trackdc.

*Hits to the catalog page are not included due to data not collected when catalog was upgraded. Visits directly to pages like Overdrive, Freega

Zinio are also not included. Additionally, users are accessing the library more through social media.

** Library Sponsored programs is not a KPI, as outlined in the annual performance plan.

    Notes:

DC Public Library has implemented thermal people counters in every location. Thermal imaging technology senses infrared

radiation to track traffic travelling underneath the sensor and monitors multiple people entering and exiting at the same time.

Data transmission is communicated wirelessly over the network, which allows tracking and analysis of the data. Devices are

mounted at public entry and exit locations.

    * In January 2014, installation of thermal people counters began across the DC Public Library system. All counters were installed

by July 2014. One full year of statistics will be captured by July 2015.

    Notes:

*DCPL IT obtained access to WiFi information at these locations beginning FY14 Q4. One full year of statistics will be captured by

    uly of 2015.

Users are increasingly accessing DCPL's WiFI network for a fast, reliable way to connect to the Internet. Many devices such as

smartphones and tablets support auto-authentication, making it an automatic and convenient for library customers to connect to

he network. DCPL obtained management of WiFi statistics for all DCPL locations in Q4 FY14 from OCTO. In FY15, the Library will

establish baseline statistics for future WiFi comparison.
