Aim: How did the Mongols impact Russian and
Chinese civilizations?Dow Now: Name four countries into which the Mongol empire extended. Do you think a group of people could ever take over so much territory today? Explain.
After the death of Chinggis Khan, his children and grandchildren continued
to conquer a vast empire.
A. 1279- Kublai Khan (Grandson of Genghis Khan) conquered China.
B. Created the Yuan Dynasty C. Gave government jobs to Mongols and
excluded Chinese(eventually rebelled against mongols)

A. Mongol leaders ruled with tolerance1. Could live as before but had to pay tributes to
the Mongols (payment to mongols)

Kublai Khan did many good thingsfor China. He built a new capital cityin Beijing. Beijing is still the capital
of China today.
