Dragon-shaped Flying Object Appears in Jilin

    Province

At about 6 p.m. on August 6, two students walkedout of their library in Jilin University and lookedup. Look! A flying dragon appears in the sky! Astudent named Li captured an image of the dragonon his picture-phone, providing the secondinstance of photo documentation of a dragonflying over China so far this summer. When I waswalking out of the library, I saw a bright, animal-shaped object flying in the sky, headingsoutheast. It was incredibly dazzling, just like agigantic dragon. I immediately took a picture ofthis unusual event on my cellphone, saidexcitedly Li, a student at Jilin University, Jilinprovince.

    Flying Dragon at Dusk

Li captured what he believes to be a dragon on hisphone camera and began passing it around theUniversity two days later. In the middle of thephoto is a distant-looking dragon-shaped object, complete with four limbs and a tail. As they wereleaving the library that evening, Lis girlfriendXiaobin suddenly yelled, Look! A flying dragonappears in the sky! A glowing, red dragon-shapedflying object streaked across the sky, illuminatingthe evening sky just after the sun had disappeared

    from sight.

    Gone in Minutes

Li estimates the object to have been over ten meters long. It was at the altitude of an airplane but wasmuch bigger and flying very fast. At first the flying object radiated a low metallic light. It then becamemore and more dazzling over the next two minutes before it disappeared into the southeast. Seeing theflying object, I instantly took out my cellphone and captured its picture, Li said emotionally.

I Saw the Dragon that Evening

Li was not the only person to see the dragon that evening. Law students Li Bing and Zhao saw it also. LiBing said, When I was leaving the library, I heard a girl yelling Look! A dragon is flying in the clouds! Ilooked up, and I saw a red dragon-shaped object flying southeast. After just a minute, it flew away.Zhao added, The sky was completely illuminated at that moment.

What People Are Saying About the FlyingDragon

Not everyone agreed with Li that what he had onhis cellphone was in fact a picture of a dragon, although everyone wanted to see it. Somestudents believed the picture to be a UFO or awave pattern of turbulent clouds at sunset. Onestudent said that it might be formed by rays oflight when sunlight reflected off a flying objectlike an airplane. Everyone has expressed his or herown opinion, but they could not come to a unifiedconclusion

    Observatory Sees Nothing Unusual

Was it really a dragon? One staff member from anearby observatory says nothing unusual was observed that night. He says that he cannot confirm thesighting because he did not see it himself and not find out relevant documentation.

Earlier this summer, a man traveling by airplane into China from the Tibet region took a picture of whathe believes were two peculiar dragon-shaped objects flying in the clouds. Dragons in the East, unlikethose in the West, are thought to be benign, powerful creatures [1].
