National Weather Service Invites You to Skywarn Spotter TrainingThe National Weather Service
Spotter Program is a network of vol-unteers trained in identifying irregu-lar weather events. These volunteers call in to report abnormal weather conditions where they live.
The training will cover cloud identification, gauging rainfall, mea-suring hailstones, types of severe wind, rating snowfall, NWS weather terminology and knowing when to call in a report.

Siletz Tribal Youth ConferenceNov. 7-8, 2015 • B’nai B’rith Camp near Lincoln City, Ore.
This conference is for students who are in grades 7-12. Transportation is provided from all Tribal offices.

Nesika Illahee Pow-WowAttention Siletz Tribal Artists
The 2016 Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow Committee is once again having a logo contest for the upcoming pow-wow in August 2016.
All Siletz Tribal artists are encouraged to submit a pow-wow-themed logo. The winning logo artist will receive a cash prize of $250 and a professional banner with your logo.
The winning artist will have his/her logo highlighted on Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow flyers and merchandise.
Please submit your artwork to the cultural education director’s office at the Siletz Tribal Community Center or mail it to Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Attn: Pow-Wow Logo Contest, P.O. Box 549, Siletz, OR 97380-0549.
All entries must be received no later than Feb. 29, 2016.
Royalty Crown Proposals
The 2016 Pow-Wow Committee is now accepting proposals for 2016-2017 royalty crowns. Proposals are being accepted for Miss Siletz, Junior Miss Siletz and Little Miss Siletz.
Proposals for a crown are required to include art design, size of the crown and a bid for the crown or crowns of your interest. Propos-als can be submitted for individual crowns, two crowns or you can sub-mit a bid for all three crowns.
Crown proposals are due no later than Feb. 29, 2016.

Fair Board to Consider Consultant Report at Next MeetingThe Lincoln County Fair Board
will hold a special meeting on Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at the courthouse in New-port. The main agenda item will be to consider action on a report from Don Mann, the consultant hired by the county earlier this year to pull together a series of recommenda-tions on the future redevelopment of the county fairgrounds.
Mann was hired by the county commissioners and the fair board to pull together earlier public input, including the work of the Blue Rib-bon Fair Committee and a profes-sional consulting team, as well as conduct further research. Mann’s report was delivered to the fair board at its Oct. 16 meeting and can be found online at co.lincoln.or.us/
fairgrounds/page/fairgrounds-rec-ommendations-report-don-mann-october-2015.
The report details plans for rede-velopment of the grounds, funding that work and future management of the site.
The fair board will consider whether to recommend the plan to the county commissioners.
