Welcome to another great summer at the Boys & Girls Club of London. We are pleased to offer many activities, trips and spe-cial events for our campers. Here is some information to help you get ready for camp!

PROGRAMSThe Boys & Girls Club of London offers a variety of summer camp programs for ages 5-15. Each camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with drop-off between 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and pick-up between 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Options for early drop-off and late pick-up can be found on Page 2. A description of the various summer camp programs we offer can be found on Page 5.

All Camp Programs Cost: $15.00 per child, per week.

Cost: $160 members / $170 non-members *Cost includes lunch and two snacks every day*

DROP-OFF/ PICK-UPCampers are to sign into the Club every morning in their home room between 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. If you arrive late (past 9 a.m.), the parent/guardian is responsible for taking the child to the camp’s location if out of the building. Please Note: For your child’s safety, children must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. IMPORTANT - At pick up, all individuals are required to show Government issued IDENTIFICATION. If your child needs to sign themselves in or out, please speak with the Camp Director – ext 238, prior to the start of camp. All individuals who are permitted to pick up your child must be on the registration form. If they are not, the child will remain at the Boys & Girls Club so please ensure that registration AND the Camp Coordinator /Camp Director are aware of any changes/additions of people who are allowed to pick up your child. Camp Overnight – Thursday July 18. Cost is $15, must pre-register- 30 spaces each night.

EARLY DROP-OFF/ LATE PICK-UP If you require early drop off (7:30-8 a.m.) or late pick up (5-5:30 p.m.), it is available at a cost of $3.00 per child per ses-sion (please pay at the booth), and your child can be picked up and dropped off in the gym. There is a fee of $ 5.00 per child every fifteen minutes after 5:30 p.m. If you know you will be late, please call the Club to report delays.

CAMPER HEALTHIf your child requires medication, please give it directly to the Coordinator in the original container and fill out a ‘Permission to Self Administer Medication’ Form. The BGCL does its best to keep nut products out but cannot guarantee “nut-free”

SWIMMINGEvery day, each camp has scheduled swim times – refer to weekly calendar for particular camp. Life jackets are required for non-swimmers and swimmers ages 6 and under. Qualified lifeguards are always on duty and all counsel-lors swim with the campers. Swim lesson sessions are available for campers; please refer to the Summer Camp brochure for more information.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH, & SNACKSThe Breakfast Club will be available at the tables outside of the Music Room to feed your hungry camper every morning from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. for only $2.00. Morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack are provided for every camper. Please list food allergies but do not list dislikes, we cannot accommodate indi-vidually. The 2 week lunch menu will be available shortly.

BEHAVIOURAL ISSUESCamp is supposed to be fun and safe for everyone! We strongly encourage children to actively participate in the camp program, listen to the counsellors and follow the rules and schedule. Please note that if there are behavioural issues with your child a Behaviour Form will be filled out by the Camp Coordinator. If the behaviour is a serious occurrence, the parent/guardian or emergency contact will be called to pick up your child from wherever the camp is located at that time. If your child is suspended from the camp for either the rest of the day or week, you cannot receive a refund of any camp money you have paid for the week.

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS 2013Arts Adventure Ages 5 -13Offered weeks 1 – 5 & 7 - 8Campers will explore, create, learn and experiment through drawing, painting and sculpture. Children are guided by their imagination as they work with different mediums to create their own masterpieces. Campers will also participate in group games, swimming and Afternoon Adventure at the Club.

Bust a Move 101 Ages 5 - 13Offered weeks 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8This is an introduction to dance and other fitness activities, with a traditional summer campexperience. Be prepared to learn contemporary dance, current hip hop and other styles. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, children are taught through progression in a positive learning environment. Other activities include swimming, Club activities and out trips.

Fun With Facts & Figures Camp Ages 8 – 13 Offered week 1 & 2The FUN comes in the way of sports, arts and crafts, science experiments and daily trips in the community. Staff will use new and innovative methods to develop an enjoyable under-standing of reading and mathematics, including the London Free Press and Financial Liter-acy. We encourage all Club members and M.A.P. students to attend this camp for a creative and exciting experience. *Those who sign up for one of these weeks, will receive a free week Discovery Western Sci-ence and Engineering atBGCL from August 6-9.

Just for Girls Camp Ages 5-13Offered Weeks 3 & 8 NEW CAMP! An all girls’ camp is a unique opportunity for girls to be in a supportive and learning environment where girls can be more themselves. The female counselors help them to learn, grow and challenge themselves, in a nurturing place. This camp is just for girls; to help them build self-confidence and skills, enhance self-esteem and ability of girls particular-ly in areas where activities like sports and adventure may have been intimidating in a co-ed environment. Activities include sports, swimming, out-trips, daily discussions of girls’ topics, games and activities.

Kamp I Direct - K.I.D. Ages 7 - 13Offered weeks 1 - 9This camp provides campers the opportunity to make some selections of what activities they will participate in. At the beginning of the day, there are 3 program choices planned.These include sports, small groups activities like crafts, science fun, cooking, indoor/outdoor games and team building exercises. Campers also enjoy a daily routine of swimming, camp wide games, activity rooms at the Club and out trips.

Drama Rama Ages 7 - 13Offered weeks 2-5 & 7 - 9Following a different script each session, these campers will shine as they learn the ins and outs of the theatre. Fun-filled activities include drama workshops, prop and set design, im-provisation, group games, and swimming. At the end of each session, campers will entertain others with a special theatrical production. No previous acting experience required. Every-one is a star!

Outdoor Adventure Junior Ages 5-8 & Senior Ages 9 -13Offered weeks 1 - 9This camp combines indoor activities at the Club such as swimming, computers and outdoor interests at various locations like fishing, canoeing, hiking, outdoor cooking and a weekly out-trip. Those who love nature and being outside will explore through environmental studies and fun activities.

All Stars Camp Ages 9 - 13Offered weeks 1 - 9Campers will develop the skills necessary to play a variety of sports, including soccer, bas-ketball, volleyball, lacrosse and baseball. Campers will receive sport instruction, work on skill and leadership development, enjoy friendly competition, swim, and play a variety of fun-filled camp games.

Shooting Stars Ages 5 - 8Offered weeks 1 - 9Similar to All Stars, this camp is for the budding athletes! Campers are introduced to a vari-ety of sports each week. Children focus on fair play, skill development and physical activity in a fun and safe environment. An out trip, swimming, large group games and activities at the Club are included each week.

Splashworks Camp Ages 9 - 15Offered weeks 2, 4 7 & 8This camp is a great way to have fun and develop skills to become a more confident swim-mer. Each day focuses on water safety knowledge, strength, endurance and conditioning through daily swim instruction. Lifeguard techniques and skill drills are taught by qualified swim instructors at a variety of levels. Dry-land activities included.

Summer Science Camp Ages 8-14Offered weeks 3 & 4NEW CAMP! Summer Science camp takes science beyond the school curriculum; spark-ing children, interest in science, encourage their curiosity and building their confidence and skills. Every day the campers will participate and will enjoy science exploration, take in sci-ence demonstration, take on science challenges with hands on projects. Projects examples: make lava in a cup, blobs in a bottle, make plastic milk and more.

CAMPERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDSCAMPERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS ARE WELCOME HERE!The Boys & Girls Club of London provides integrated camp opportunities for children with special needs.Specially trained staff provide the individual support, encouragement and care your child may need. Familiesand children are interviewed and matched with the Inclusion staff who will best meet your child’s needs. Parents/Guardians must complete the special needs supplementary form.For more information, please contact the Inclusion Co-ordinator at 519-434-9115 Ext. 242.
