There are ways of getting a job that will make you successful. Getting started : it’s best to start looking as possible even before you walk across the stage of graduation
“it’s going to take a lot more than your personal motivation and college degree in hand to find employment after college. In fact finding a job may seem like a job itself, with applications to fill out, searches to sift through, and references to collect”

“It’s because college kids today can’t do math, one line of reasoning goes. Or they don’t know science. Or they’re clueless about technology, aside from their myriad social-media profiles. These are all good theories, but the problem with the unemployability of these young adults goes way beyond a lack of STEM skills. As it turns out, they can’t even show up on time in a button-down shirt and organize a team project.”
“A survey by
the Workforce Solutions Group at St. Louis Community College finds that more than 60% of employers say applicants lack “communication and interpersonal skills” — a jump of about 10 percentage points in just two years. A wide margin of managers also say today’s applicants can’t think critically and creatively, solve problems or write well. “
So this doesn’t mean that we need to have honors just to have a good job.

What is the real meaning of college
anyways? According to Phyllis M. Wise
Chancellor of the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign and a vice president
of the University of Illinois “Should we be
preparing students for the work force, or
should we be preparing them for lifelong
learning? The answer is, "Yes." We must
provide students with the tools and skills
necessary for gainful employment.
However, data suggest that today's
and will it guarantee you a good job? The
answer to this is no, Nothing can actually
guarantee you a good job – and a degree
of any sort has never guaranteed anyone
a job. First, don’t worry too much about the
phrase ‘prestige university’, because
people’s opinions differ about what a
‘prestige university’ actually is, “not all
employers think like that, though. And with
more students choosing universities for
different reasons - for instance, to cut
costs by living at home and studying
locally - graduate employers have to cast
their net more widely to attract talent.
Other employers are good at establishing
links with universities that specialise in
their field, or are located nearby (which is
why it’s worth thinking about where a
university is situated – you might end up
there longer than you think).”(Ball, 2013).
Let’s also not worry too much about what
a ‘good job’ actually means – for some of
you, it’ll be the best-paid one. For others,
graduates will have three different
professions during their lives. It is our
responsibility, therefore, to teach students
how to learn, how to find information, and
how to work collaboratively across
disciplines and cultures. In a global
economy where our interactions are no
longer bound by geography, cross-cultural
understanding and communication are
essential.” He also said that “It is important
to teach students a body of knowledge—
the "facts" of a discipline. One cannot
pursue any profession without
understanding the principles of it. Good
universities find a balance where students
are free to form their long view of the world
while at the same time acquiring the
knowledge and skills to pursue a
rewarding profession. We fail when we
force students to choose a college
experience where they must pick one or
the other.
it’ll be something that allows you to be
creative, something that inspires you, or
anything that makes you enjoy in what
you’re doing, and a whole lot more of
reasons. There is no such thing as a good
job, we only have career; and this career
should not just involve money but it also
should involve happiness and passion. But
on the other side of the story “Not all
graduates from these universities enjoyed
immediate employment success, though –
in 2011, even some graduates with first-
class honours degrees were working in
supermarkets after six months. Not many,
of course, and that doesn’t mean they’ll
always be there. Or, they might end up as
the manager, earning a high salary! On the
other hand, most graduates at universities
lower down the league tables have jobs
after six months, and most with a
graduate-level one. So it’s perfectly
possible to get a good job whatever
university you go to if you work at it.” (Ball,
We prepare students for the jobs and the
careers that will emerge and grow and
change in the next 20 years—perhaps in
industries not yet conceived. These aren't
job skills—these are life lessons, and
these are the lesson college must
teach.”(Wise.2013). College helps us not
just to acquire our goal but also give us an
honourable moral, there is more than job
and education, and that is being able to be
lifelong learner.
College could really help us in
getting near our vision, but college just
helps it’s not really assured that your

2013). So it really proves that you
sometimes need to start in the bottom,
because sooner or later you will be on top.
In our time today there is really no
assurance of us getting a job that we badly
want because there are many factors that
affect it; like the demand of your job in the
time that you graduate from college the
status of the job is full and has no more
slots, many people suffer from this, like the
nurses; they finish with a degree of BS
nursing but didn’t have a job because
there are already many nurse in the world
they can’t be hired. With this situation the
BS nurse find another job just to support
their living and this leads to the so called
mismatch. But it doesn’t mean that if you

a job in the future that is related to your

2013). So it really proves that you
sometimes need to start in the bottom,
because sooner or later you will be on top.
Another dilemma about this why are
College graduates not getting hired, why
are they being unemployed? There is a
research about this and the demand of
your course is sometimes a factor to get a
job here is an evidence of this “A May 2013
study from the Georgetown University
Centre on Education and the Workforce
reveals that students who studied
architecture have a high unemployment
rate of 12.8 percent among recent college
graduates, defined as those between ages
22 and 26 with bachelor degrees. Graphic
design and history majors are doing a little
better, with unemployment rates for recent
grads near 10 percent. Meanwhile, people
who were elementary education majors
have a 5 percent unemployment rate
among recent grads, the study found, and
students who studied agriculture and
health sciences have an even lower
unemployment level, well below the
national average. The overall
unemployment rate for recent graduates,
according to the study, is 7.9 percent.
However, it's worth noting recent grads
often have a more difficult time finding
employment in their field. Half of recent
grads are working jobs that don't require a
degree, according to research from the
Centre for College Affordability and
Productivity, released in January. But in
2000, before the economy fell into a
recession, the share of recent college
graduates who were either jobless or
underemployed hit an 11 year low of 41
percent, according to the Associated
Press.” (Kingkade, 2013). This is one
proof why newly college graduates leads
to a mismatch, the course that they have
taken is not offering jobs, factors in this is
the company has lots of employees and
due to shortage of jobs.
In our time today there is really no
assurance of us getting a job that we badly
want because there are many factors that

the time you graduate.

Entry Essay
Pre-marital sex
In our time today, many things have changed. One for example is unmarried
couple that are having mutual contact with each other. We all know that sex is only for
the one who has undergone marriage. When unmarried couple to these things, it is called
pre-marital sex, this is a sin to our Lord. In this generation many teens’ not just adults
have done these kind of things, and sometimes it doesn’t have a good ending. Because
when the guy accidentally makes the girl pregnant, the guy is not taking responsibilities
in this own action. The guy doesn’t take care of the baby and girl is going to have a hard
time raising the baby.
This is one issue regarding pre-marital sex it is really evident in our society today.
We see lots of single moms or teen moms out there. But some people say that they have
sex for pleasure not to have a baby, people are just so addicted to it that they destroy
other people’s lives. Pleasure is not the reason for sex. Virginity is a holy thing that should
only be given to their husband.
So what if sex feels good, it doesn’t matter; what matter is we should reserve it for
the one we vow are lives to, the one who will forever live with, the one the Lord has given
us. We should think more about these things cause holiness is one of the gift we could
give to our wife/husband, it was created for them not for pleasing our own self. Things
should change, it must change for the better. Couples now a days keep on having a
relationship for the sake of sex. This must be changes and make them realize that what
they are doing is wrong. I know sooner this issue will have a solution to it. Maybe in the
future. We should be always aware of our own action and take responsibility for all the
mistakes that we have done but it is not the end we could still change it and we could
prevent it.
Exit Essay
“ Human nature “
The youth today has a wider knowledge about everything, they are exposed to
many things that affects their mind and attention; the youth thinks like a mature person,
that sometimes lead them to the wrong path because of carelessness. Many young
people decide so quickly without even thinking carefully that hurts them in many aspects.
Currently several temptations are just around the society, this is one reason why the youth
are so inclined in doing the wrong action. This action becomes an issue because it’s not
just them who are being affected but also the individuals in the society.
One issue that is really evident at the moment is pre-marital sex, according from a
group from UP that 1 out of 3 teenager is involved in this act; it is obvious that these action
is being done by most of the teenagers in this time, mainly one reason why they are doing
it; it’s because of peer-pressure, they are being blinded by this mentality because they
think that if most of the people do it, it is okay and acceptable. This mentality is not right,
we must know what is correct from wrong, doesn’t mean most of the people do it, you will
also do it, we must think critically and decide precisely, because making the wrong choice
could lead your life to the edge of destruction. But is having sex bad? Actually the answer
is no, sex is not bad at all because this is one way humans do to reproduce our population,
then why is pre-marital sex wrong? It’s mainly because you are not married, for a Christian
country having sex when you are not married is a sin, it was in the books that purity is
one gift that you could give to your future spouse. It is against the will of the church, that’s
why one of the main supporters of this issue is part of the church, they want to prove to
everyone that sex should be saved for your loved one, not for your temporary lover, but
that reason is just mentally and just about your own moral. There are practical reasons
why pre-marital sex is wrong, one example that is seen today is single mothers, it’s
because of unwanted pregnancy, when the guy knew that he is going to have a baby he
ditches it and leaves the mother alone, he doesn’t want to take care and take part of it,
and this is because of pre-marital sex. Another example is having sex with different
partners can give you a virus that could kill you, and it’s called STD and it has no cure.
See this, it is not just you who is harmed, but you also jeopardize the life of others in this
obscene action. Pre-marital sex it just doesn’t affect your soul but it also affects your
human being. We should not give in to temptation that gives you pleasure for a mean
time, because the effect could give a life time of despair and misery. We know that
pleasure is in our nature, we all have it, but we just need to control it and let it out if it’s in
the right time and place.
I know this issue will have a solution, not now but maybe sooner or later. Now we
just need to think about what is proper for us and the society, we must not think narrowly,
but we should think with wider knowledge and put some responsibility in it. We should be
aware of our action and know the consequence that will happen after. It is our obligation
to differentiate and weight options in our life, we should know if it will lead you to the right
road and not.
Reflective Essay
Englcom made me realize the true meaning of academic reading and writing, it taught me
a lot of things like having a plan for your paper not just directly writing it, searching for
references to prove my chosen topic, doing a draft to make my paper more efficient, using
paraphrasing, summarizing, and direct quotation when I get information that didn’t come
from me, and many more. After this term it clarified my misconceptions about academic
writing because the whole time I thought that it is the same as our essays in high school
but it’s not, it’s much wider and more informative. It is well researched, if we write a
sentence it should have a supporting phrase that will strengthen the sentence.
I had many difficulties that I encountered in doing my extended definition and
argumentative essay, one is finding sources to put in my essay, I should not just make up
things because it will be non-sense, I need evidences so I could support my essay,
second is revising my essay it’s hard to revise when you can’t think new ideas and having
a hard time using my vocabulary, third is connecting all the sources that I got, sometimes
the sources that I have is so out of place. I resolved this topic by asking help from my prof
and by giving it time to make it perfect.
My style in writing improved very well, because when I wrote my entry essay, it
was all not connected, like the ideas are not fixed properly. I just wrote and wrote without
even thinking if it is still in the flow of my topic. But I improved in my exit essay because
my ideas were all in the right place, it supports my topic and answers my topic, it has facts
that helps my essay to be true. The factors that helped me improve are the activities in
class and all the essay that we have done I learned a lot from it.
