• In February 2016 the City of Calgary as CMLC’s sole Shareholder expanded company mandate;

• Previously, CMLC was focused on completing work and projects within the Rivers District; were limited by CRL financial parameters;

• New mandate: CMLC, created and owned by the City of Calgary, exists to achieve the City's objectives for urban densification and community renewal, infrastructure investment and placemaking

• In 2017 CMLC entered the final 10 year term (indeed, the half way mark) of CRL capture,infrastructure investment and development within EV and the Rivers District;

• To prepare the corporation for its final decade of work, we initiated a multi-phased strategic planning process to examine our progress against the EV Master Plan vision and Rivers District Revitalization Plan

• Completion of public spaces like RiverWalk, St. Patrick’s Island and smaller urban parks have been instrumental in the delivery of our placemaking efforts

Retail Development

• CMLC has stewarded the development of the retail strategy for East Village

• Urban and Village format retail is now unfolding in East Village

• There are 7 active constructions sites in East Village; Boutique Hotel, RioCan urban format grocery store, market and rental residential buildings, and New Central Library

• Public Ream and streetscaping program to provide interface between East Village,

the New Central Library and the downtown core

• Design team of Kasian Architecture (Calgary) with 5468796 Architecture (Winnipeg).

• The parkade, which will serve visitors to the New Central Library, National Music Centre and

other East Village, Victoria Park and downtown destinations; approximately 500 stalls.

• East Village Experience Centre (EVEC) continues to be the main interface with potential buyers, perspective developers, retailers and the public; educates on progress and vision of community

• Co-operative marketing campaigns funded by EV developers allows CMLC to continue sharing and expanding the East Village story

• Continue to engage with residents to foster sense of community and steward community identity

• CMLC will continue to develop and deliver compelling programs and events to immerse Calgarians in the East Village lifestyle and real estate story

• Anticipating 100,000 visitors to East Village & St. Patrick’s island each year 2017-2019- East Village Junction- Beat Beethoven - Joint New Central Library/National Music Centre programs

Rivers District Master Plan

• We honed our placemaking expertise in East Village and are now preparing to take on the balance of the Rivers District

• In February 2017 CMLC kick-started the creation of the Rivers District Master Plan• The focus of the master plan will determine the investment of $150 million towards Victoria

Park and the Stampede Ground representing the balance of the Rivers District

Public Engagement

• In 2018 CMLC will engage the Calgary community to inform what amenities and infrastructure projects are most important
