CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT

OUR SUPPORTERS

MAJOR PARTNERS

COUNCIL PARTNERS

This year has been a busy one for

Eastside BEC with an increase

in membership and a variety of

business activities that have been

well attended including Networking

Evenings, Wonder Women of

Adelaide Business Lunches, The

Edge Forum, Business Mentoring

and the Business Advisory Service.

The Board works closely with the

General Manager who oversees

our Federal Government contract,

major sponsors Bartercard and

NBN along with a wide range of

businesses and sponsors and of

course our local member councils

- City of Norwood, Payneham & St

Peters, City of Campbelltown, City

Of Burnside, Town of Walkerville,

City of Prospect and City of Unley.

I would like to thank Peta and the

Eastside BEC staff for all their hard

work throughout the year and also

to the Board for their time and

advice.

Eastside BEC is a membership

based organisation with our

members coming from a diverse

variety of areas within the business

community. This gives us great

strength as

an organisation and access to

mutually beneficial partnerships

and strategic alliances.

The future of Eastside BEC lies with

its members, and my challenge to

you is to get out into your networks

and the wider business community

and spread the word about Eastside

BEC - if we all work together

imagine what we can

achieve!

GM’S REPORT

TREASURER’SREPORT

The audited financial statements for Eastside

Business Enterprise Centre Incorporated for the

2016/17 financial year showed a profit of $1,918.00.

Eastside BEC received federal and local government

funding to assist in the provision of services to members

and clients and has earned revenue from fees for services,

membership fees, event sponsors and partnerships.

The organisation continues to work towards building its

financial sustainability by both, maintaining and developing

relationships with funding partners and the member base, and

by generating more diverse revenue streams.

Thank you to Greg Andrew of Stevens & Andrew Pty Ltd

who undertook this year’s audit of the

incorporated body.

Eastside BEC has strived forward this year by delivering

on our commitments and making new connections.

Our members make up a vibrant and active business

network which forms the foundation of our organisation and

compliments the support of our government funding partners,

ERA Councils, commercial partners and generous sponsors.

There are many members who give to our network by providing

services at very generous rates, pro bono presentations,

introducing new members or potential partners and so much

more. Thanks to all of you and your generosity is appreciated.

Thank you to my team, the Board, our partners and our

members - we look ahead with optimism and a sense of

excitement for the opportunities still to come.

The continued operation of Eastside BEC would not

be possible with the valuable contributions of our

supporters and partners.

Australia’s digital economy demands a fast and reliable network. NBN Co’s goal is to

enable access to new markets, create opportunities to reduce

costs, drive innovation, and help Australian businesses gain acompetitive edge

on the global stage.

Bartercard is a cashless business network where

members exchange products and services without the use of cash. Bartercard consists

of approximately 55,000 cardholders in eight countries

trading more than $600 million each year.

EVENTS OVERVIEW

The Wonder Women of Adelaide Business Lunch series put a

spotlight on genuine and authentic entrepreneurial business

women who shared what it took for them to achieve their

goals. The series was hugely successful and saw the likes of

women from diverse backgrounds and upbringings including

Jill Bottrall of NBN Co, Miriam Castilla of Life on Purpose and

Jodi Duyster of Australian Medical Placements. Thank you to

all our guest speakers.

BUSINESS LUNCHES

With over 600 people attending our monthly networking

evenings, members and non-members had ample

opportunity to make new business leads and strengthen

existing business connections whilst enjoying a range of

Adelaide venues including the Little Bang Brewery, Bombay

Bicycle Club and the Alma Tavern.

NETWORKING EVENTS

We had the pleasure of providing the small business

community with a range of various workshops covering topics

from social media and networking to utilising accounting

software and public speaking. Thank you to all our presenters.

We could not have provided this service without your support.
