Ecolight Services SA formed in 2011 specializes in the designing, manufacturing and marketing of LED luminaries. Having become aware of our planet’s imperative needs to maintain the environment, Ecolight Services SA has created efficient and innovative products both on technical and aesthetical aspects. The company is funded by 26 year old financial holding firm, SGFC, based in Switzerland with Trading activity in several Funds over 1 Billion USD, year on year, for the last 10 years. Ecolight Services has its Head Quarters in 10A Ch. Du Joran, Nyon, Switzerland, 15 minutes away from Geneva Airport.

Ecolight Services SA also owns Girard Sudron which is 120 years experienced Lighting company in France, and has more than 5000 customers, including the name of retail stores like BHV, Castorama etc.

Ecolight Services & Girard Sudron have signed partnership with world wide suppliers of all kinds of Lighting products which represent more than 750 Million USD of annual sales.Ecolight Services website has more than 2000 references, and with the products of Girard Sudron, can offer more than 6000 references to the customers.

ILLUMINANCE (Unit – Lux or lm/m ) :

Illuminance is the total luminous flux incident on a surface, per unit area.It is a measure of the intensity of the incident light.

Luminance (Unit - cd/m ) :

Luminance is a photometric measure of the luminous intensity per unit area of light travelling in a given direction. It describes

the amount of light that passes through or is emitted from a particular area, and falls within a given solid angle.

Luminous Flux (Unit – Lumen or cd.sr ) :

Amount of light emitted in all direction by a light source.

Luminous Intensity (Unit – Candela (cd) or lm/sr ) :

Luminous intensity is a measure of the wavelength-weighted power emitted by a light source in a particular direction per unit

solid angle.

Luminous Efficacy (Unit – Lumen / Watt) :

Lumen out divided by electrical input power.

Luminous Intensity Diagram or Distribution curve :

A polar plot representing the light intensity as a function of angle about a light source. Blue line represents in longitudinal

plane (C0-C180) and Red line represents the Transverse plane (C90-C270)

Lumen Depreciation :

Light output depreciation throughout its life.

CRI (Color Rendering Index) :

An object looks whitish under the Fluorescent lamp meanwhile, the sameobject looks yellowish under the incandescent lamp.

The same object looks different in different light sources. You can see how light source change the color of the objects. CRI is

the property of the light source that affects the apparent color of the object. For SSL a better index called.

CCT (Correlated Colour Temperature) (K): (Unit - Kelvin) :

The color temperature of a light source is the temperature of an ideal black-body radiator that radiates light of comparable

hue to that of the light source.

LED Luminaire :

A complete Light unit consisting of a lamp, Electronics (or LED driver) as required together with the parts designed to distri-

bute the light, position and project the lamps and connect them to the power supply. Generally Lighting Engineers called this

as a “Fixture”.

LED Module :

A component part of an LED light source that includes one or more LED’s connected to the load side of LED power source

or LED driver. Electrical, electronic, optical, and mechanical components may also be a part of an LED module. The LED

module does not contain a power sources and is not connected directly to the branch circuits.

Self Ballasted LED Lamp or Integrated LED Lamp :

A lamp with LEDs and integrated LED driver, and an ANSI standardized base that is designed to connect to the branch circuit

via ANSI standardized lamp holder/socket.

LED Driver :

Devise that is connected in between the voltage supply and one or more LED Load and which serves the purpose of driving

appropriate current for the LED chips.

Power Factor (PF) :

The power factor for a SSL is defined as the ratio of the real power flowing to the load to the apparent power in the cicuit.

It is also equal to the cosine of the phase angle between voltage & current drawn by the input of the driver from an AC

source (often the wall plug in a house).

CORRELATED COLOUR TEMPERATURE

CCT refers to the Planckian black-body radiator colour temperature(CT) that is closest to the color of the white light source.

A human observer is normally capable of distinguishing CCT differencesof 50 to 100 K in range from 2000 K to 6000 K.
