PROFILE Have over 20 years of professional experience in agriculture, environmental and business development in the U.S., South America, China, Caucasus and Central Asi a; since 1991, I have been predominantly resident in Georgia, working on interna tional donor, private and NGO sector programmes, commodity trade and SME and tou rism development. I am knowledgeable in: the behaviour and structures of rural c ommunities and agricultural markets in Georgia and its region, commodity trade, tax legislation, the institutional, legal and policy context in which markets an d terms of foreign trade operate and the linkages between production, processing , marketing, food safety (HACCP) and international business. I have served as Ed itor-in-Chief of local/regional newspapers and have taught at university and voc ational school level (most recently as a volunteer instructor in a tourism vocat ional programme). I am also involved in various research projects in various sectors, political-ec onomic and social, which include cutting edge M&E, and have an educational backg round including an MSc in agricultural-international development. I am continual ly engaged in applied research, policy formulation and programme planning for va rious clients.
