AUGUST 2, 2020 18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is hard to believe that we have entered into August! I pray that you and your family are having an enjoyable summer. As we continue into the summer months I would ask that you continue to be generous with your parish. We rely on you, our parishioners, for the funding that we need to continue our work here in the Hillcrest Area. Last week, after careful consideration from the Finance Council, we presented what the parish needs for our operation. Please be as generous as you can to help our parish to continue to do our good work together.

We are very happy to announce that our children who have been waiting for three months for their First Communion Day will receive their First Holy Communion on Sunday, August 16th.

Please keep these little ones in your prayers as they ready themselves for this very important day in their lives.

May God’s blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland

FATHER MICHAEL WITTMAN OZANAM CENTER SUMMER UPDATE The Father Michael Wittman Ozanam Center (of St. Vincent DePaul) has been actively operating during the pandemic with outdoor distribution for food to provide greater health and safety precautions for clients and volunteers.

On July 1 the clothing bank also resumed a modified outdoor clothing distribution to offer items from our summer clothing stockpile. New clothing donations are not yet being accepted due to COVID-19 safety precautions, however we are accepting donations of food and hygiene products as well as used plastic bags.

Summer hours are now in effect for the weekly operation of the FMWOC every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers from our partner parishes are always needed, especially during the summer months. If you are able to volunteer, please contact your parish representative or you can sign up directly at: https://fmwoc/ivolunteer.com.

You can also help our mission by spreading the word to those who can benefit from our services. Please follow and share our efforts on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FMWOC.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Center!
