An   electric   car   is   an   automobile   that   is   propelled   by   one   or   more   electric  motors,  using  electrical  energy  stored  in  batteries  or  another  energy  storage  device.      An  electric  car  powered  by  sunlight  is  a  solar  car,  and  an  electric  car  powered  by   a   gasoline   generator   is   a   form   of   hybrid   car.   Thus,   an   electric   car   that  derives  its  power  from  an  on-‐board  battery  pack  is  a  form  of  battery  electric  vehicle   (BEV).  Most   often,   the   term   "electric   car"   is   used   to   refer   to   battery  electric  vehicles.    Commercially,  Smart  Ed  became  the  first  ever  BEV  that  was  manufactured  in  London   in   2007.   The   current   global  market   has  many   electric   cars   –   Nissan  Leaf,   Mitsubishi   i-‐MiEV   family,   Renault   Zoe,   BMW,   etc.     Nissan   Leaf   is   the  highest   sold   one   in   June   2013,   as   well   as   the   cheapest   in   price.   Tesla   is   an  expensive  luxury  segment  electric  car.    In  the  US,  LA  has  the  highest  ownership  of  electric  cars.

Some  EVs  run  100%  on  electricity,  while  others  (hybrid  electric  vehicles)  run  partly  on  electricity  and  partly  on  some  other  fuel  (e.g.,  gas  or  diesel).  Vehicles  that   can   at   times   run   solely   on   electricity,   and   can   be   plugged   in   to   charge  their  batteries,  are  PHEVs.  Nissan  Leaf,  Chevy  Volt,  Toyota  Prius,  and  Tesla  S  are  some  electric  vehicles.  Renault  Zoe  is  a  French  electric  car  made  in  France.    Smart  Ed  brought  in  their  newest  EV  in  2013.  This  is  the  third  iteration,  it  has  a  74  hp  electric  motor  and  17.6  kwh  battery.  Top  speed  has  been  bumped  up  from  62  mph  to  78.  As  before,  the  primary  advantage  of  the  electric  version  is  the  single-‐speed  transmission.    An   all-‐electric   car   made   by   a   Chinese   company   named   HYLX   is   called  ‘Snowden’.

Electric   vehicles   are   sometimes   called   EV,   as   they   run   on   battery   operated  power.    EVs  are  environment  senstivite  and  create  less  pollution.  This  also  will  have  impact  on  green  house  gases  and  global  warming.  Sometime  hybrid  cars  are  also  seen  that  operate  on  both  fuel  and  electric  voltage.      The  Los  Angeles  California  has  the  highest  electric  car  ownership.  EVs  are  becoming  popular  every  day.  Renault  Zoe  is  a  French  EV,  and  Nissan  Leaf  is  a  Japanese  EV.  Mitsubishi i-MiEV family is also an EV and it is also Japanese. Nissan Leaf costs less compared to other EVs. Tesla is another EV which has good look – but Tesla is expensive and not quite affordable. Chevy Volt is a hybrid car.  UK  offers  their  customers  Plug  in  Car  Grant  and  Smart  Ed  was  manufactured  by  them.

Political  unrest  in  Egypt  is  an  important  civil  unrest  in  the  world.  It  began  in  25   Jan   2011,  when  Egyptians   take   to   the   street   against  Hosni  Mubarak.   The  protest   took  place   in  Tahrir   Square   in  Cairo.    After   that  Hosni  Mubarak  was  forced   to   resign,   and   Mohammed   Morsi   became   the   president   in   2012.    Mubarak's   downfall   was   only   the   second   revolution   in   the   Arab   world.  Mubarak  was  sentenced  to  three  years  in  prison,  while  his  sons  received  four-‐year  sentences.      Mohammed   Morsi   was   also   ousted   in   July   2013.   Robert   Ford   is   a   former  American  Ambassador  who  actively  participated  in  the  unrest.  Many  innocent  people   lost   their   lives   due   to   this   unrest.   The   Egyptian   revolutions   have  influenced   demonstrations   in   other   Arab   countries.   Officials   say   tourism  provides   12.5%   of   employment,   and   11.3%   of   GDP   of   Egypt;   therefore,   the  effect  of  this    unrest  is  brutal  for  Egyptians.

The Independent this morning published an article - which it repeatedly claims comes from "documents obtained from the NSA by Edward Snowden" - disclosing that "Britain runs a secret internet-monitoring station in the Middle East to intercept and process vast quantities of emails, telephone calls and web traffic on behalf of Western intelligence agencies." This is the first time the Independent has published any revelations purportedly from the NSA documents, and Snowden clear that he was not the source for the Independent, stating:” I have never spoken with, worked with, or provided any journalistic materials to the Independent”. The UK government create an appearance that the Guardian and Washington Post's disclosures are harmful, and they are doing so by intentionally leaking harmful information to The Independent and attributing it to others.

Global   warming   is   the   gradual   increase   in   the   overall   temperature   of   the  earth's  atmosphere,   attributed   to   the  greenhouse  effect   caused  by   increased  levels  of  carbon  dioxide  and  other  pollutants.  U.S.  President  Barrack  Obama’s  climate   action   plan   involves   implementing   rules   and   standards   that   will  reduce   releases   of   carbon   dioxide   and   other   greenhouse   gases   from   power  plants,   heavy   vehicles,   and  buildings.  U.S.   alone   is   responsible   for   roughly   6  billion  tons  of  carbon  dioxide  emissions  yearly.        The  climate  of  the  northern  Atlantic  Ocean  has  warmed  and  cooled  nine  times  in   the   last   12,000   years   due   to   global   warming.   Another   effect   of   global  warming   is   the   increase   in   the   temperature   of   the   earth,   resulting   in   the  melting  of   ice.    The  Earth  Summit  was  held   in  Rio  de   Janeiro   in  1992,  where  UNFCCC  treaty  was  designed  for  signature.  This  treaty  is  designed  to  stabilize  greenhouse   gas   concentrations   in   the   atmosphere   at   a   level   that   would  prevent  dangerous  anthropogenic  interference  with  the  climate  system.

Global  Warming  is  one  of  the  greatest  issues  the  world  facing.  These  days  the  phenomenon  is  increasing  because  of  the  unscientific  use  of  fossil  fuels  and  carelessness  in  the  use  of  CFCs.  In  the  earlier  era,  the  global  warming  wasn’t  a  problem  with  much  attention.  But  within  a  short  period  of  time,  it  came  to  notice  the  drastic  changes  in  weather-‐  mainly  temperature.

The  main  cause  of  global  warming  is  Green  House  effect  which  is  caused

mainly  because  of  CO,  CO2,  SO2  and  CFCs  (ChloroFluroCarbon).  These  gases  form  a  layer  around  the  globe  which  traps  the  heat  from  escaping  to  the  space  resulting  in  the  increase  of  temperature  which  cause  change  in  weather  and  result  in  melting  of  Ice-‐Bergs.  The  sea  level  raises  and  the  low  altitude  places  drawn  because  of  this.

The  Global  Summit  held  at  1992  was  decided  to  reduce  the  emission  of

Green  House  gases  to  reduce  global  warming.

Global warming is an important issue all over the world. Green house gases cause global warming. The U.S. president Barrack Obama is a strong proponent to slow down global warming. He is doing his best to take necessary steps so that collectively, we can reduce its harmful effects. The UNFCCC is an international organization that is highly concerned about countries whose actions are contributing to global warming. This serious problem of global warming affects not only one country, but the entire planet. That is why all nations have to create solutions and policies to reduce its effects; otherwise, there will be dangerous and deadly results for mankind.
