The Ciy of Sockholm charges a fee for service, nursing andassised living wihin elderly care. These fees are governedby he Swedish Social Services Ac and are based on heprice base amoun1. This brochure conains informaion onhe Ciy of Sockholm's fees.

What affects the fee you pay?Just what fee you will pay is based on your income, your housing

costs and what kind of assistance you are granted.

In order to calculate your fee, the City of Stockholm needs infor-mation about your income. The City of Stockholm receives infor-

mation about income paid by the Swedish Pension Authority fromFrskringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency) andinformation about capital gains from Skatteverket (the Swedish TaxAgency). If you have other income, you must disclose this yourself

on a form you can get from your assistance ofcer or ldre direkt(Elderly direct).

You will never have to pay more than the maximum fee for theassistance you are granted. However, you may pay a lower fee,

depending on your income, housing costs and certain other costs. The maximum fee for each fee group is shown in the table on page 9.

You may also choose not to disclose income data and instead paythe maximum fee in the fee group corresponding to the assistanceyou have been granted.

    Your income

Income includes all types of pensions and any income from employ-ment, business, annuities and capital gains. Some tax-free allow-ances and grants also count as income. These include housing

supplements for seniors, special housing supplement and elderlycare support.

Private wealth does not count as income.

If you live with your spouse, your income will be calculated as half

of your total income. If you are living with a partner, your incomewill be calculated separately.

1The price base amount is set by the government and is adjusted every year. The amounts shown in this brochure are

calculated using the current price base amount for 2016 (SEK 44,300).

Your housing costsYour housing costs consist of rent or a monthly fee if you live in

an apartment. A certain portion of the interest for your home loancounts as housing cost. Any costs for heating your home and forhot water in addition to the rent or fee may be included, but not

    the cost of household electricity.

If you live in your own house, you can include in your housing

costs a certain portion of your interest expense, site-lease rent andproperty tax. Heating and operating costs are calculated using the

    Swedish Pension Agency's standard amounts.

Housing costs are divided by the number of adults who make up

    the household.

Minimum amount, individual supplements and deductionsThe minimum amount is a statutory amount that is intended tocover the normal costs of personal needs, on Konsumentverkets

(the Swedish Consumer Agency's) estimates of reasonable livingcosts.

The minimum amount for a single person is SEK 5,001 per month. For cohabiting spouses and partners, the minimum amount isSEK 4,225 each per month.

If your costs exceed the normal costs for those items that the mini-mum amount is intended to cover, or if you have additional perma-

nent increased living expenses of at least SEK 200 per expense andmonth, you may obtain an individual supplement. An individualsupplement increases your minimum amount and may, therefore,

    affect your fee.

If you live permanently in a nursing home, certain consumer itemsare included, and so an individual deduction of SEK 295 is madefrom the minimum amount.

Withheld amount and fee coverageA certain part of your income will be withheld until the fee has

been established. This is called the withheld amount and is thetotal of the minimum amount and your housing costs.

The withheld amount is deducted from your combined income after

tax and the total is called the fee coverage. It is the fee coveragethat determines what fee you will pay for the assistance you aregranted. If there is no fee coverage, no fee will be charged.

If you are receiving more than one type of assistance, for example

home care services and day care activities which each belong todifferent fee groups, the fee for all of the assistance you receivewill be calculated based on the highest of these groups.

Common fee for certain home care servicesCohabiting spouses and partners pay one common fee for home

care services that benet both in their joint household.

Double housing costsIf you move to a nursing home or assisted living and do notmanage to dispose of your former home, you may include bothhousing costs in the basis for calculating your fee. You may also

apply for reduced rent for a nursing home or assisted living for adisposal period of up to three months if you wholly or partially

lack sufcient nancial capacity to meet double housing costs

yourself. In both of these cases, you must be able to prove thatyou intend to dispose of your former home.

Fee decisionIf you are to receive assistance that is subject to a fee, you will

receive an individual fee decision. You may appeal your fee decision.Contact your district administration if you are not satised withyour fee decision.

If the assistance you are granted change, this may affect your fee.You are obliged to inform the City of Stockholm if your income

or your housing costs change, as this also may affect your fee.
