1. What are we aiming to accomplish? At Estranged Stories, we are committed to helping those families that are experiencing this kind of pain… • we are interestedin research that looks at why family estrangement appears to be more common or on the rise • we are interested in parentingstyles and outcomes which might give us clues and behavior changes that could prevent estrangement • we are interested inthe effect on children whose parents have chosen to limit contact with grandparents • we are interested in looking at familypatterns and how estrangement often repeats itself • we are interested in studying and providing a framework of copingstrategies for those experiencing estrangement

2. What are our strategies for making this happen? We are partnering with PhD students to write journal submissions, we are submitting grant proposals and we are availablefor writing and speaking engagements. We have written a book, and plan to write more -- all sales and proceeds go back toEstranged Stories. we have produced a documentary which will also be for sale on the website with proceeds benefiting theorganization.

3. What are our organization's capabilities for doing this?Due to the nature of this issue, we currently host a private website for people who are experiencing estrangement fromfamily members. We provide comfort through moderation and positive response and encouragement. We host web eventsfor members to talk to each other, and we are developing face to face meeting groups.

4. How will we know if we're making progress?Because this topic has little to no available research -- the main indicators are the responses when articles are published, thefact that there are other groups pushing for Grandparent rights in the state of FL, and the conversation on the topic isgrowing in social media groups.

5. What have and haven't we accomplished so far?We now have over 4000 members on our website with another 2000 waiting to join. We have had some reconciliations butthe objective is to provide peace and personal development. Based on correspondence, we are making progress in helpingpeople bring this issue into perspective so that they can move in a more positive direction.
