Represent the concerns, needs, ideas, aspirations and interests of European women scientists in all disciplines and all stages of their career paths
Coordinate support activities for women scientists to facilitate their active role in the European Research Area as researchers as well as participants in the research policy debate in Europe

Enhance the participation of women scientists in European research policy, shaping of the European research agenda
Increase the participation of women in research and its decision making bodies
Increase the participation of women scientists in national and European research programmes, actually Horizon 2020
Promote the understanding and the inclusion of the gender dimension in research policy in all scientific fields
Gender-sensitive notion of excellence and innovation Promote the structural change toward a gender-sensitive
scientific culture in all areas of science and research

Art. 15 Gender Equality
Horizon 2020 shall ensure the effective promotion of gender equality and the gender dimension in research and innovation content. Particular attention shall be paid to ensuring gender balance, subject to the situation in the field, in evaluation panels and in bodies such as advisory groups and experts groups.
The gender dimension shall be adequately integrated inresearch and innovation content in strategies,programmes and projects and followed through at alstages of the research cycle.

Introduce binding gender-evaluation criteria in EU research-funding programmes Set targets for the participation of women in EU-funded reserach projects at all levels at the proposal stage, sanctioning missing targets Set indicators for gender sensitivity in the research design of proposed projects Train evaluators in gender issue Extend the 40% target for women‘s participation beyond advisory groups and evaluator panels to all structures related to Horizon 2020, including the ERC, Joint Research Centre, European Institute of Innovation and Technology, steering and expert groups
