Involved in various assistance programs and cooperation activities with the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). 3. The EU has regularly raised the human rights situation in the DPRK bilaterally and through UN bodies, including co-sponsoring country resolutions. EU and S. Korea 1. Partnership in as science & technology, innovation, education, environment, etc. For example, in 2011 the number of EU-Centers in South Korea is set to increase from two to four. 2. The EU-Korea relationship has evolved over the past few years, based on shared values, common issues of global concern and the increasing role of both partners at world stage. EU and Thailand 1. EU is seeking to increase political dialogue and cooperation within the country. 2. The domestic political situation has prevented Thailand from engaging fully in the Free Trade Agreement discussions between ASEAN countries and the EU.

1. Agreement outlined is mostly the sustainable reduction of poverty.

EU and Viet Nam

1. Vietnam is a key partner country within ASEAN and has acted as ASEAN facilitator in ongoing

EU-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks.

2. The EU is seeking to widen the agenda of its relationship with Vietnam.

EU and Singapore

1. EU is Singapore’s 2nd major export partner.

2. The EU is also by far the largest source of foreign investment in Singapore (about € 50 billion

in 2005).

3. The EC and Singapore enjoy a stable and fruitful trade relationship with around 3000

European companies established in Singapore.
