7 Installation and migration

7.1 Recommendations

It is strongly recommended that all customers contact the Honeywell Technical Assistance Center prior to performing an installation or migration.

7.2 Installation instructions

For installation and configuration instructions, refer to the following documents.

• Experion PKS with PMD individual Manufacturing Node documents.

• Experion PKS with PMD Controller Getting Started User’s Guide

• Experion PKS with PMD Controller Node Specific Production Document (Server, DM, HMI, RHS)

7.3 Migration considerations

You can migrate legacy systems (TPA and prior versions of PMD) to PMD R910.2 release. Only an offline migration supported. You can migrate all the existing System Definitions and Application Blocks from old TPA and PMD systems and make them compatible for PMD R910.2 database. In addition, it involves the migration of existing display files, alarms, Field Network definitions, history configuration, and report configuration.

You can migrate legacy systems (TPA and prior versions of PMD) to PMD R910.2 release. The following are the supported migration paths.

• TPA > PMD R612 > R900.1 (Offline Builder with TPA to PMD Migration Tool 151.1) > R910.2

• PMD R612 > R900.1 (Offline Builder with TPA to PMD Migration Tool 151.1) > R910.2

• PMD R720 > R900.1 (Offline Builder with TPA to PMD Migration Tool 151.1) > R910.2

• PMD R800.x > R910.2

• PMD R830.x > R910.2

• PMD R831.x > R910.2

To migrate an old TPA/PMD system to R910.2, ensure that the following are migrated.

• System definitions

• Application blocks

• FieldNetwork configuration

• TPA GUS display files (In case of TPA systems)

• HMIWeb displays
