My name is Eytan Rosencwaig, I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and will graduate from Tulane Universitys M. Arch. program in May 2016.

Ever since I was young I have been fascinated by the idea that something that began as a simple concept in someones head could become an actual built element in the real world. This thought has pushed my design curiosity through Tu-lanes rigorous academic pro-gram and has made me eager and excited to begin my pro-fessional career in the field of architecture.

This project is located in the New Orleans Central Business District. The building creates an challenging combination mixing a Cuban Consulate and a commercial plaza on the ground floor.

The program is separated in three parts. The first floor has the public aspects of the consulate, as well as a public plaza and the entrance to an art gallery that leads up to the second floor. The second floor houses several other public amenities such as an auditorium, a large reception space / bar, and an exterior cigar lounge. All offices and other consular elements are located above this floor, leaving the consular apartment as the penthouse of the building.

This separation of programatic ideas begins to inform the facade design, creating different systems for distinct levels of privacy which are all visible from the outside.

The major idea in this project is to work as an integration of sustainable water systems in a public plaza that is also an amenity to the neighborhood, the city, and the New Orleans Civil Courts building. The water systems include a constructed wetland, a roof catchment and treatment area, and a wastewater treat-ment area on the back of the site.

The wetland in the front acts as a buffer zone for medium water levels, with occupiable wide stairs that to be used as park amenities. The roof catchment plant collects rain water, and moves it to a side tank where the water could be circulated back into the building for non-potable uses. The rest of the water is stored to be used for a decorative water element that falls of the side of the building next to the exterior cafe.The wastewater treatment area in the back brings down dirty water from the building and cleans it using a natural filtration system to be later circulated back into the canal.

The building has two main masses, one housing all court elements and the other is an elevated wing where CDC Clerk and several other government offices are located. 5

The civil courts are located in floors 2 - 6 and are connected through a stair system running along the front facade of the building. The stair begins off the lobby and travels to all the courts floors allowing to enter each floor and also provides exterior terraces at each level.

The New Orleans Tanzakademie project consists of designing a school of dance in recently re-emerging part of the city, the Warehouse District. The idea is that the building can serve as a useful environment both for dancers and regular visitors. The program consists of a main performance theater, back-of-the-house serices for it, a bar, a black box theater, and eight practice studios. The buildings facade works dinamically. It is lined with vertical folding panels that can remain in different positions to create several different facade configurations that can provide distinct shading options and confort throughout the building.

The Marina 193 project consists of an ordinary residential building in an up and coming neighborhood in the cosmo-politan city of Barcelona, Spain.

The building has commercial parcels in the first floor, a sports complex in part of the first and the entire second floor. The idea of the sports complex is to integrate the origi-nal purpose of the site, which used to be a multi purpose sports court into the building to give back to the people in the neighborhood.

Floors above the sports complex have one and two bed-room apartments and larger penthouse apartments in the top two floors that have four bedrooms.

This project addresses community integration issues in Fort Pienc, an up-and-coming neighborhood in Barcelona. The the project is a public park and community productive garden and kitchens where people of different backgrounds and generations can come together in one place for different activities.

A bridge structure dissects the site in two parts, allowing for one side the act as a productive area and the other as a recreational space. The bridge serves as a promenade that crosse the site walking through an elevated market, a productive plant bridge and a ramada.

The productive side includes a productive garden, a market where grown goods can be sold, a green-house, and community kitchens where cooking classes are offered. The recreational side has a skatepark which offers local youth to practice skating which is widely popular in the area, and other activities like ping-pong, and green space.

The project consists of designing a building arts institute in which artists from across the country can stay for some months and create. Some elements of the program include a library, classrooms, an auditorium, a gallery, residences, and different kinds of art workshops (wood, masonry, etc.)

The concept talks about how the site becomes a town center, being the only break in the neighborhood grid. There is a linear park extending from St. Claude Ave. straight through the site, having stopping points at the crossing of each street. The park follows a path that curves in and out.

The program is divided into bars that pull in and out from a central path to create the effect of being pushed through space as the linear park in the neighborhood does.
