It is the perfect time to make a quilt. We are offering a lot of fun classes. Zenith is teaching an Intro to Wool class. JaNelle is teaching a fun paern using strips. Row by Row is coming to an end, but we are offering a class so you work on the rows you have collected. Mark your calendar for September 16 for National Sew a Jelly Roll Day. We will be having a jelly roll race and making other quilts using a Jelly Roll. We are starting a new Block of the Month – “Solstice,” a six-month program with 5 large applique blocks. Appliques are large enough that you do not have to fuse them if you don’t want to. e quilt is made entirely of batiks. e quilt measures 63” x 71”. We are taking sign ups now. e Block of the Month will start in November, as soon as the fabric arrives. “Wooly Block Adventure” is a new program from the people who came up with the “Row By Row Experience. e adventure runs October 15 to December 15. It will be an 8-inch wool appliqué block. Back to school means more classes

Summer is coming to an end, and kids are going back to school. The days are getting shorter and cooler outside. It is the perfect time to make a quilt. We are offering a lot of fun classes. Zenith is teaching an Intro to Wool class. JaNelle is teaching a fun pattern using strips. Row by Row is coming to an end, but we are offering a class so you work on the rows you have collected. Mark your calendar for September 16 for National Sew a Jelly Roll Day. We will be having a jelly roll race and making other quilts using a Jelly Roll. We are starting a new Block of the Month –

Table-runner TueSDayS: You pick the patterns, and we will spend the morning making a table runner. You can make a different runner each month. They will make great gifts. Meets the first Tuesday of each month. Pattern required. 9/5, 10/3, 11/7, 12/5 10 am Alison Dale $40

anTelope canyon: This quilt is 74″ square and uses 2” strips as well as 1” strips. So you can use prepackaged Bali Pops from Hoffman Fabrics or any other 2” pre-cuts. The semicircular design comes from the overlapping of the wide and narrowstrips. Many variations are possible with this designbased on the values of the fabrics used. There are 4 large log cabin-style blocks in this quilt, and if you rotate each 90 degrees; you’ll get a large circle in the center for another great look. meXican STar: The Mexican Star design dates back to the Mexican-American War from 1846-1848. Ruby Short McKim published a pattern in 1931in her book, 101 Patchwork Patterns. Eleanor Burns has rewritten the pattern this year to make it fast and easy, using 2 1/2 inch strips. Grab some strips, background fabric, and sashing, and come have fun making this quilt. inKTenSe2: Now that you know how to use the inktense pencils, come spend the afternoon with Zenith and work a project you like. You must have taken Intro to Inktense before taking this class.

pHoToSHop elemenTS for QuilTerS: Discover how you can use Photoshop Elements as a design tool to add creativity and a personal touch to your favorite quilting projects. In this monthly class you will learn the basics of Photoshop Elements to build a digital design ‘stash’, quilt blocks, applique designs, and much more, that you can print to fabric for your one of a kind projects. A new design technique or idea will be explored each month with plenty of time for practice and opportunities for monthly show and tell. abSoluTe beginnerS: Discover quilt making and learn the basics without a great investment in time or materials. You can use our rotary cutter, mats and rulers as you construct a lap size quilt. QuilTer’S paTcH: There’s a new treasure coming later this winter from Laundry Basket & we know you won’t want to miss it. TuffeT: Make your own custom footstool also known as a “Tuffet.” You can make it with a lot of different fabrics or just two. STaSH buSTer club: Do you have a large fabric stash? There are a lot of books and patterns out there to help use up some of your scraps and stash. If so we have a club for you. Capture winter in beautiful solstice Block of the Month experienceWe’re super excited to offer a new Block of the month. Coming this fall. The quilt is divided into six months but you can choose to get it as a complete kit. All the blocks have large applique pieces so you can use your favorite method of applique to complete the quilt. The entire quilt is made of batiks from Island Batik. The fabric is expected in November. We are taking sign ups now to make sure we have ordered enough fabric.
