What is AMSA?
Founded in 1950, the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), is the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States with 60,000+ members
Members range from pre-medical students, interns, and residents, to practicing physicians
AMSA activism focuses on the following: advocating for quality, affordable health care for all; global health equality; enriching medicine through diversity; and professional integrity, development and student well-being
What is UCBPB-AMSA?
Founded in January 2010, UCBPB-AMSA is the only post-baccalaureate chapter in the nation to be recognized with an official charter
UCBPB-AMSA is a key resource outside of post-bac program-specific advising that caters to meeting the unique needs and interests of the post-baccalaureate/non-traditional student demographic
UCBPB-AMSA is the largest student group (among the “BIG THREE”) at UC Berkeley Extension, with 130+ members to date
How Does UCBPB-AMSA Benefit YOU?
UCBPB-AMSA is invested in equipping its members with the education, guidance,
awareness, and opportunities to become well-informed and empathic health professionals.
