W elcome to the 35th EVER Florida Conference of Y oung People in AA! What is FCYPAA? FCYPAA was founded with the purpose of pro viding an annual celebrat ion of sobriety among young people in AA. Since its inception, a growing gro up of people , who at first would not have considered themselves “young people,” have become regu lar attendees. The number of young people suffering from alcoholism is growing. FCYPAA helps carry AA’s message of recovery to alcoholics of all ages. This conference provides an opportunity for young AA’s from all over to come together and share their experience, strength, and hope as members of Alcoholics Anonymous. We hope AA members who attend FCYPAA can return home better prepared to receive young people who come to AA looking for a better way of life. The Suncoast Host Committee of the 35th EVER FCYPAA is pleased you are here and hope you enjoy Standing in the Sunlight at Last with us. The Suncoast Bid for FCYPAA began in 2012 after an announcement was shared about a YPAA event at our local young person’s group. This announcement carried the message of YPAA all over the state. The first bid committee in our area was formed. We chose the theme “Bid Life” and went to FCYPAA in the 239 to bring the conference back to the Sarasota area, district 4. Although West Palm Beach was awarded the conference that year, we were determined to trudge the road of happy destiny. We kept calm and bid on, attending FCYPAA in West Palm. We met with advisory, danced, performed our bid presentation and was not awarded the conference again. 2015 FCYPAA was in Tampa, only an hour north of the Sarasota. We once ag ain spent the year making our bid books, playing unity games, camping, having and attending events, knowing we may have had 99 problems, but the bid wasn't one. We have a way out through brotherly and harmonious action, and much to our pleasure and surprise we were awarded the 35th EVER FCYPAA on May 30, 2015! This year has been rewarding for our AA community and our host committee members. Although we are a small host committee we are ready to bring the heat! Our bid life brought us to trudge the road knowing we have a way out and now we Stand in the Sunlight at Last! Our Theme: Despite the living example of my friend there remained in me the vestiges of my old prejudice. The word God still aroused a certain antipathy. When the thought was expressed that there might be a God persona l to me this was intensified. I didn’t like the idea. I could go for such conceptions as Creative Intelligence, Universal Mind or Spirit of Nature but I re sisted the thought of a Czar of the Heav ens, however loving his sway might be. I have since talked with scores of men who felt the same way. My Friend suggested what then seemed a novel idea. He said “Why don’t you choose your own conception of God?” That stateme nt hit me hard. It melt ed the icy intellectual mountain in whose shadow I had lived and shivered many years. I stood in the sunlight at last. The 35th Ever FCYPAA Presented by the Suncoast

Welcome to the 35th EVER Florida

Conference of Young People in AA!

What is FCYPAA? FCYPAA was founded with the purpose of

providing an annual celebration of sobriety among young people

in AA. Since its inception, a growing group of people, who at first

would not have considered themselves “young people,” have

become regular attendees. The number of young people sufferingfrom alcoholism is growing. FCYPAA helps carry AA’s message of

recovery to alcoholics of all ages. This conference provides an

opportunity for young AA’s from all over to come together and

share their experience, strength, and hope as members of

Alcoholics Anonymous. We hope AA members who attend FCYPAA

can return home better prepared to receive young people who

come to AA looking for a better way of life.

The Suncoast Host Committee of the 35th EVER FCYPAA is pleasedyou are here and hope you enjoy Standing in the Sunlight at Last

with us. The Suncoast Bid for FCYPAA began in 2012 after an

announcement was shared about a YPAA event at our local young

bid books, playing unity games, camping, having and attending

events, knowing we may have had 99 problems, but the bid wasn't
