PowellRiver’sRotaryClubandFilmSocietyarepresentingthefifthAdventuresinFilmCampnextFebruary.Thiseducationalexperiencecoversmanyfacetsofthefilmmakingprocessandisveryinspiringforyouth.Lastyear’sgroupwassoenthusiastic‐‐wehopeyoucanspreadthewordfor2012!

CampOverview:Duringtheday,participantsattendseminarsbyfilmmakers,anddohands‐onvideooranimationproductioninsmallcrews.PostsecondaryinstitutionssuchasSFU,EmilyCarr&thePowell

RiverDigitalFilmSchoolmaydopresentationsontheirfilmprograms.Intheevenings,studentsenjoyfestivalfilmsandreceptionsatthecommunitytheatre.BilletingwithRotarians,mealsandfullsupervisionareprovided.

SelectingApplicants:Rotaryclubscancontacttheirlocalhighschoolsforpotentialparticipants.Pleaseselectapplicantswhoaremotivatedtolearnandparticipate,andscreenstudentswithawritten

submissionand/orinterview,andrequestacharacterreference.Theabilitytoworkaspartofateamandpreviousexposuretovideoproductionisrecommended(mosthighschoolsofferamediacourse,orstudentsmayhavetheirownequipment).Participantsshouldbeaged15‐19onJan.1,2012.Facilities

arewheelchairaccessible.ImportantDates:PleasesubmitregistrationformsandfeebyDec.23,2011.Thisyearweareoffering

anearlybirddiscountof10%toclubspayingbyOct.31,2011.Apackagewillbesenttoparticipantswithtravelinfo,acampoverview,awaiverandapackinglist.ThecamprunsFebruary17‐19,2012,withtraveloccurringFeb.16&19.
