Dear Parishioners,
We had our second weekend of actual live, real person, in the pews Masses last Sunday. Thank you to our many staff and volunteers who have assisted with the whole admission, entry, seating, communion, safety and disinfecting process. We are tweaking our procedures as we go. Please know that we are here to serve. Event Brite is still the way to go for Sunday Mass reservations for all four Masses. As things change, we will alert you via our parish website.
Please keep in mind that confessions are on Mondays and Saturdays from 4 – 5 pm and by appointment. Confessions take place on the patio. Please wear your mask.
The past two Saturdays we have had First Holy Communion for our Religious Education and EDGE kids. Congratulations to all of you in receiving this incredible sacrament! Thank you to Sandra Rodas and our catechists. Thank you to Brandon Kawachi for prepping the EDGE kids! This coming Saturday we will have one final First Holy Communion Mass for our Holy Family Grade School children.
A friend of mine is very concerned about the division in our country. So am I! Why has everything become so politicized? We have diverging ideas on everything from the Covid19 virus to Black Lives Matter, protests, our bishops and leadership in Washington, D.C. and the state of California. It is disconcerting at times. But … do not be discouraged! Let us all try to set an example and let us NOT cancel people out just because they think differently from the way that we do. God has made us all into unique individuals with differing worldviews and experiences that color our perspectives and our politics. There is a certain beauty in the diversity. Let us embrace our differences and not let satan use it to divide us as loving Christians, recognizing Jesus in others and appreciating that everyone is our brother and sister in Christ.
Please note that our capital campaign continues for a new parish center. In the meantime, we do have another project for which we are separately raising funds: THE ADORATION CHAPEL. Our dream is to expand the chapel to accommodate more people and keep people 6 feet apart for social distancing. We would also like to move the altar to the east wall and have a built-in secured location in that east wall to hold the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament. This renovation would also necessitate new flooring. This would also address security concerns. It’s a dream. It is possible. It will be awesome. We have received a $100,000 bid from an approved contractor. If you would like to donate to this praiseworthy project to enhance our Msgr. Lirette Perpetual Adoration chapel, please write a check (indicate “Adoration chapel” on the check) or drop off your cash or press DONATE on our parish website and click on “Adoration chapel renovation project.” Thank you for your support and spread the word!

AS CATHOLICS OUR STORY IS ALIVE
Our parish commitment weekend and follow up weekend was completed in February. Our Parish goal is $100,261. The pledges we have received so far total $78,956. The amount paid is $28,656.22. Out of our 4700 registered families, 450 have made a pledge or payment. Payment and Pledge online is available at OurMissionLA.org.
