OBJECTIVE:

- Frequent scratching of head

- Presence of lice

- Unwashed hairs

Pediculosis as Health Deficit

Inability to recognize the presence of the problem due to inadequate knowledge

Within 4 days of proper nursing intervention the family will be able to manage the lice infestation and practice proper head hygiene to stop the infestation.

SHORTTERM OBJECTIVE:

After an hour of proper nursing intervention the family will be able to know how to manage the lice infestation.

LONG TERM OBJECTIVE:

After 2 days of proper nursing intervention the family will be able to practice proper head hygiene to stop the infestation.

Introduce self to the family members

This will promote cooperation and reduces anxiety on the whole FNCP process.

Notes in CHN SHORT TERM OBJECTIVE:

Goal met. After an hour of proper nursing intervention the family was able to know how to manage the lice infestation.

LONG TERM OBJECTIVE:

Goal met. After 2 days of proper nursing intervention the family was able to practice proper head hygiene to stop the infestation.

Advice the mother to bath and shampoo the child everyday

This will ensure the cleanliness of the child’s head and would prevent the increase of the lice

Financial resources for transportation

If possible advice the parents to have the child’s hair cut near the scalp

This would greatly reduce the number of lice in the head and makes the head cleaner

Show the family on how to use the fine tooth comb to remove lice

This would remove most of the lice that are infecting the head of the child

Introduce to the family the available shampoos that would eradicate the lice

This would give them other option on how to remove the lice faster.

Show the family on how to wash the hair properly

Ask the family to demonstrate the procedure on how to wash the hair properly

This would show them on how to properly wash the hair and ensures the cleanliness of the hair

This would evaluate the family’s retention and knowledge on the procedure that was taught.
