PARKING STATEMENT:

Approximately 108 Nos. of four wheeler, 1218 Nos. of two wheelers & 1218 Nos. cycles are

proposed in the residential complex.

Internal circulation pattern will be so as to avoid any congestion within the complex. Parking

space will be allotted within the campus.

1.3.What are the likely impacts of the proposed activity on the existing facilities adjacent

to the proposed site? (Such as open spaces, community facilities, details of the existing

land use and disturbance to the local ecology).

Although it is a construction activity, its impact on air quality, water quality, noise and soil will not be notable. As a matter of fact this activity will have positive impact, on socio-

economic culture of people residing in the vicinity of the proposed area. There will not be any disturbance to the local ecology as the selected site for the construction is a barren land.

The project site and the surrounding area are not developed. The plantations, which would be grown in the residential area, will be helpful in increasing green cover of the area. This would

also increase avifauna in the area.

1.4.Will there be any significant land disturbance resulting in erosion, subsidence &

instability? (Details of soil type, slope analysis, vulnerability to subsidence, seismicity,

etc may be given).

Generally, soil types found in Pune district are black, copper, red, & paddy soil. Soil blends of

variable properties are modified by sand, gravel, lime salts, & other ingredients.

The debris will not be generated at the project site as the excavated material will be utilized

on site for filling.

1.7. Give details regarding water supply, waste handling etc. during the construction

period.

Total water requirement during construction phase will be approximately 35m3/day for

domestic use for the workers working/dwelling on the site. The construction water

requirement will be in addition to this. The source will be Tankers. The non biodegradable solid waste will be segregated and will send to kabadi. The wet waste will be treated by

“Organic Waste Convertor”. A septic tank and soak pit will be constructed for temporary shelters of construction workers.

The construction debris and cut and fill waste will be recycled for road construction

depression on site will be lined and converted into water bodies which would add to passive

cooling and will act as Rainwater Harvesting devices.

The source of water during operation is Paud Grampanchayat.

The water will be available from Paud Grampanchayat which will accomplish the water requirement for this residential complex.

2.4. How much of the water requirement can be met from the recycling of treated

wastewater? (Give the details of quantities, sources and usage)

About 155.70 m3/day of water will be recycled for flushing at residential building &

landscaping.

2.5. Will there be diversion of water from other users? (Please assess the impacts of the

project on other existing uses and quantities of consumption)

2.6. What is the incremental pollution load from wastewater generated from the

proposed activity? (Give details of the quantities and composition of wastewater

There will not be any incremental pollution load from the proposed activity. The Quantity of

sewage is about 84.35 % of domestic water consumption. The wastewater-generated from the proposed activity shall be domestic. Total water will be treated and recycled within the site to

the extent possible.

project on the runoff characteristics (quantitative as well as qualitative) of the area in

the post construction phase on a long term basis? Would it aggravate the problems of

flooding or water logging in any way?

The proposed land use is in conformity with the DP so there will not be any land use change.

The runoff from the project site will be used for the aquifers.

The storm water drains of the area are proposed to be connected to the future drain line which

is future development along the project.

2.9. What are the impacts of the proposal on the ground water? (Will there be tapping of

ground water; give the details of ground water table, recharging capacity, and approvals

obtained from competent authority, if any)

A comprehensive Rainwater Harvesting System will be implemented in the form of aquifer

recharge. The water table in the area is likely to increase due to the proposed system with no

adverse effects envisage.

2.10. What precautions/measures are taken to prevent the run-off from construction

activities polluting land & aquifers? (Give details of quantities and the measures taken

to avoid the adverse impacts)

The runoff from the site will be filtered mechanically and present rate of discharge will be

retained without any incremental pollution load from the site.

2.11. How is the storm water from within the site managed?(State the provisions made

to avoid flooding of the area, details of the drainage facilities provided along with a site

layout indication contour levels)

2.12. Will the deployment of construction laborers particularly in the peak period lead

to unsanitary conditions around the project site (Justify with proper explanation)

During construction phase numbers of workers will be 60. Municipal solid waste generated

during construction will be composted at site. Temporary Toilets, Septic tank and soak pits

are provided during construction phase. This will not lead unsanitary conditions at the site.

2.13. What on-site facilities are provided for the collection, treatment & safe disposal of

sewage? (Give details of the quantities of wastewater generation, treatment capacities

with technology & facilities for recycling and disposal)

The sewage will be collected from 692 Nos. tenements. The quantity of sewage is about 78.05

% of domestic water consumption. The waste water generated from the proposed activity

shall be domestic. Sewage will be treated in the sewage treatment plants of 425 m3/day. The

treated sewage will be recycled for flushing and gardening and surplus will be connected to pond.

DESIGN BASIS This Sewage treatment plant has been designed to treat the domestic wastewater generated in

the project of “AnandGram Paud”at- Paud,Pune having following characteristics:

Design Basis:

a) Plant Capacity: 425 m3/day

DESIGN PARAMETERS:

The sewage treatment plant will be designed for a capacity of 240 KLD with a peak factor of

3. The scheme of treatment plant will be based on MBBR (Anoxic-Aerobic) Process. It will

be smell free& energy efficient (Using Samruddhi Biotechnology). Raw sewage will then be

passed through fine manual bar screens Oil & Grease to remove solids, floatables, oil &

grease from raw sewage stream before passing to equalization tank. The sewage then will be

collected in receiving /collection /Equalization Tank. The receiving /collection /Equalization

Tank will be provided with Air Blowers for mixing and aseptic conditions. Raw sewage from

equalization tank will be lifted by using Submersible Raw Sewage Lifting Pumps. Aeration

tank is provided with diffused Aeration Systems for biological aeration purpose.

In the aeration tank oxidation biological matter occurs. Nitrification occurs in aerobic tank, while nitrified effluent is denitrified in anoxic tank. Aerobically digested sewage water is

then passed to secondary clarifier where it biological Flocs formed will be removed and

separated by means of gravity. Very good quality of Bioculture is developed by using

Samruddhi Biotechnology on MBBR media. The excess biosludge is sent sludge holding tank where it is aerated. Clarified water is then passed through multimedia and activated

carbon filters for removing turbidity by means of Submersible Filter Feed Pumps.

Multimedia filtration removes fine particulate and suspended solids while activated carbon

filter removes odour and organic traces. Ozonation System is used for disinfection of treated

water

2.14 Give details of dual plumbing system if treated waste is used for flushing of toilets

or any other use.

The sewage will be collected from 692 tenements. The quantity of sewage is about 78.05% of domestic water consumption. The waste water generated from the proposed activity shall be

domestics. Sewage will be treated in the sewage treatment plant of 425m3/day. The treated

sewage partly recycled for flushing & partly connected to Municipal Sewer line.

3. VEGETATION

3.1. Is there any threat of the project to the biodiversity? (Give a description of the local

ecosystem with its unique features, if any)

There will not be any threat of the project to the biodiversity. The selected site for project is a

barren land. The project proponents have proposed a landscape development plan, which includes planting of flowering and shady trees, shrubs and lawn within the plot.

3.2. Will the construction involve extensive clearing or modification of vegetation?

(Provide a detailed account of the trees & vegetation affected by the project)

No. Selected site is a barren land. However, the project site will cover the flowering plants, lawns. The open spaces inside the plot will be suitably landscaped and covered with

vegetation.

3.3. What are the measures proposed to be taken to minimize the likely impacts on

important site features (Give details of proposal for tree plantation, landscaping,

creation of water bodies etc along with a layout plan to an appropriate scale)

The site presently is a barren land with no important site features. All the existing drain lines

and trees will be retained and conserved.

4. FAUNA

4.1. Is there likely to be any displacement of fauna- both terrestrial and aquatic or

creation of barriers for their movement? Provide the details.

4.2. Any direct or indirect impacts on the avifauna of the area? Provide details.

4.3. Prescribe measures such as corridors, fish ladders etc to mitigate adverse impacts

on fauna

The proposed project will not have any adverse impact on the flora or fauna.

5. AIR ENVIRONMENT

5.1. Will the project increase atmospheric concentration of gases & result in heat

islands? (Give details of background air quality levels with predicted values based on

dispersion models taking into account the increased traffic generation as a result of the

proposed constructions)

As this will be a Residential & Commercial complex, air pollution is not expected to be a

major concern.

5.2. What are the impacts on generation of dust, smoke, odorous fumes or other

hazardous gases? Give details in relation to all the meteorological parameters.

During construction phase, suspended particulate matter, dust, will be the main pollutant,

which could be generated from site development activities and movement of vehicles. Odorous fumes or hazardous gases generation is not expected. Concentration of SO2, NO2 and

CO may rise a little due to traffic. Proper upkeep and maintenance of vehicles, sprinkling of water on roads and construction site and providing sufficient vegetation all around the plant

site are some of the measures that would reduce the impact during construction phase.

5.3. Will the proposal create shortage of parking space for vehicles? Furnish details of

the present level of transport infrastructure and measures proposed for improvement

including the traffic management at the entry & exit to the project site.

Approximately 108 Nos. of four wheeler, 1218 Nos. of two wheelers & 1218 Nos. cycles

proposed within the complex will ensure no traffic congestion outside the campus. Measures

proposed for traffic management at the entry and exit to the project site are: Maintaining flow of traffic for approach roads Entry and Exit points carefully placed so as not to disturb this

flow. Easy movement of fire tender in and around the complex ensuring accessibility to every building.

5.4. Provide details of the movement patterns with internal roads, bicycle tracks,

pedestrian pathways, footpaths etc., with areas under each category.

Area of drive way will be 6 m wide.

5.5. Will there be significant increase in traffic noise & vibrations? Give details of the

sources and the measures proposed for mitigation of the above.

The proposed activity being of residential type will not cause a notable increase in the noise

and vibration during operation.

Sources of noise Pollution during construction phase are machinery like compressor,

Compactors, Concrete Plant, Cranes and transportation materials.

Mitigation measures:

The project proponents have agreed to take precautions to control noise pollution as

mentioned under: • Use of equipment generating noise of not greater than 90 dB (A).

• High noise generating construction activities would be carried out only during daytime. Also, adequate parking space will be provided to avoid crowding and noise pollution

• Installation, use and maintenance of mufflers on equipment. • Workers working near high noise construction machinery would be supplied with ear

muffs/ear plugs.

5.6.What will be the impact of DG sets & other equipment on noise levels & vibration in

& ambient air quality around the project site? Provide details.

During Construction Phase:

Sources of noise pollution during construction phase are machinery like Earthmoving

Machinery, Mini Hoist Crane, Mixer, Lift lade, JCB, Dumpers, Compressors and

transportation materials

These machineries will be used only day time. Canopies will be provided to these mechanical devices to reduce noise & vibration. Maximum mitigation measures such as regular

maintenance or overhauling etc.

During Operation Phase: There will not be any considerable impact on the ambient air quality around the project site as

CPCB approved DG sets along with acoustic room will be developed and plantation will be provided.

6. AESTHETICS

6.1 Will the proposed constructions in any way result in the obstruction of a view,

scenic amenity or landscapes? Are these considerations taken into account by the

proponents?

No. Proposed construction will not result in obstruction of a view, scenic amenity or

landscapes.

6.2. Will there be any adverse impacts from new constructions on the existing

structures? What are the considerations taken into account?

Not Applicable.

6.3. Whether there are any local considerations of urban form & urban design

During construction 60 workers will be provided temporary shelters at the site. After completion of the project, there will be influx of 1860 Residential population 100 people in

the area. The population of the area is likely to increase.

8. BUILDING MATERIALS

8.1. May involve the use of building materials with high-embodied energy. Are the

construction materials produced with energy efficient processes? (Give details of energy

conservation measures in the selection of building materials and their energy efficiency)

Conventional construction materials used from nearest source to minimize energy

consumption for transportation.

8.2. Transport and handling of materials during construction may result in pollution,

noise & public nuisance. What measures are taken to minimize the impacts?

During construction phase, sources of noise pollution will be due to operation of machinery

like compressors, compactors, concrete plant, cranes etc. as well as transportation vehicles.

This will cause nuisance to the occupants of the nearby area. The project proponents have

agreed to take precautions to control noise pollution as mentioned under:

i) Use of equipment generating noise of not greater than 90 dB (A).

ii) High noise generating construction activities would be carried out only during day time. iii) Installation, use and maintenance of mufflers on equipment.

iv)Workers working near high noise construction machinery would be supplied with ear muffs/ear plugs.

8.3. Are recycled materials used in roads and structures? State the extent of savings

Solid waste that would be generated due to excavation will be in the form of rubble and soil.

This soil and rubble would be used for development of landscaping. Construction debris will

be reused for backfilling of roads and other construction.

8.4. Give details of the methods of collection, segregation & disposal of the garbage

generated during the operation phases of the project.

Solid waste generated in the campus is domestic type having source separated dry and wet

components. As far as possible the dry waste like paper, cardboard boxes, thermocol packing,

plastics etc. shall be sent for recycling purpose.

However, wet waste, which is biodegradable, shall be converted to bio-compost adopting

following aerobic composting method. The quantity of biodegradable waste generated is

about 986.1 Kg/Day. The ‘Organic Waste Composter’ will be used for composting of solid

waste.

A) For Residential + Commercial 1) Quantity of Total Solid Waste = 1591.65 Kg/day.

2) Quantity of Total Wet Waste = 986.1 Kg/day.

3) Quantity of Total Dry Waste = 605.55 Kg/day.

Biodegradable and non biodegradable waste will be generated. Dry waste will be sent for

recycling and wet waste will be treated by “Organic Waste Converter”.

Process:-

1. Large volumes of food waste from pre-cooking, leftover after meal are dumped in

community bins, which is responsible for foul odor & health hazards.

2. Organic Waste Converter homogenizes organic waste with appropriate additive & bio

culture.

3. The output from device is uniform colored coarse powder in appearance and is

without any bad smell.

4. Thus treated material over-come major cause of nuisance to resident community

related to eye & nose sense.

5. It can be composted into good quality organic manure in 2 weeks.

Benefits of OWC

� The total MSW arriving on the site is cleared on the same day. � Provides a scientific method for the production of organic compost.

� Elimination of foul odor. � Elimination of Pathogens and weed seeds.

� Problem of rodents and insect pests is avoided. � Aesthetically acceptable.

Normal 5 mm clear float glass is used. The glass will allow short as well as long wave

radiations to pass through. However, use of shading devices on window panes will reduce

heating inside the buildings.

9.4. What passive solar architectural features are being used in the building? Illustrate

the applications made in the proposed project.

Solar architectural features have been planned in order to reduce cooling loads of the

structure. They are:

1. Longer side facing dominant wind direction

2. Water bodies ample adding to passive cooling

3. Proper shading devices for windows. (Not Applicable)

9.5. Does the layout of streets & buildings maximize the potential for solar energy

devices? Have you considered the use of street lighting, emergency lighting and solar hot

water systems for use in the building complex? Substantiate with details.

As it is a residential complex with no built provision for space cooling. Energy efficiency in

lighting and mechanical systems will be achieved by:

• CFL & LED based lighting will be done in the common areas, landscape areas, Solar

lights will be provided for common amenities like Street lighting, & Garden lighting.

9.8. What are the likely effects of the building activity in altering the micro-climates?

Provide a self-assessment on the likely impacts of the proposed construction on creation

of heat island & inversion effects?

The proposed project is of residential type and will not have space conditioners or glass wall.

Alteration of microclimate is not notable in this case. Systematic design of buildings in order

to assure maximum natural ventilation and light will be considered to reduce the effect of

creation of heat island.

9.9. What are the thermal characteristics of the building envelope? (a) roof; (b) external

walls; and (c) fenestration? Give details of the material used and the U-values or the R

values of the individual components.

Fenestration area is most vulnerable to heat gain or loss. Thermal characteristics of the

envelope are as follows: The U and R values of the construction parameters shall comply with ECBC.

9.10. What precautions & safety measures are proposed against fire hazards? Furnish

details of emergency plans.

The project proponents shall follow all the safety rules and regulations as prescribed by

regulatory authority.

9.11. If you are using glass as wall material provides details and specifications including

emissivity and thermal characteristics.

The entire building is designed with appropriate opening to reduce heat energy inside the building. No use of glass as well material.

Not applicable. As the ground surfaces are covered with green patches to have dust control. These openings too habitable spaces are adequate just to be functional. The openings are

10. Environment Management Plan

The Environment Management Plan would consist of all mitigation measures for each item

wise activity to be undertaken during the construction, operation and the entire life cycle to

minimize adverse environmental impacts as a result of the activities of the project. It would

also delineate the environmental monitoring plan for compliance of various environmental

regulations. It will state the steps to be taken in case of emergency such as accidents at the site including fire.
