or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan)

every year. Hence there will be no permanent change in land use, land cover or topography of the area.

1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings?

No The lease area is devoid of any vegetation. Mining activities will not cause any damage to riparian vegetation cover as the working will not extend beyond the 7.5 m offset left against the banks in the river.

1.3 Creation of new land uses? No There will be no change in the land use of lease area. Boulder, Gravel & Sand will be removed & replenished during the monsoon period. River bed will continue to be used for mining of Boulder, Gravel & Sand or otherwise natural flow of water.

1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing?

No As mineral is Boulder, Gravel & Sand there is no need for Pre-construction investigations.

1.5 Construction works? No No construction activity is proposed. Only temporary office/rest shelter etc. will be provided.

No Solid Waste from Mining Operation There will be no overburden cover and no waste will be generated. Liquid Effluent Portable toilets will be used hence no sewage/liquid effluent will be generated

No Only local villagers from nearby villages will be employed for the mining activity. Thus no housing facility is proposed.

No No new road, rail or sea traffic is required. Existing facilities for transportation of minerals will be utilized. Only temporary approach roads will be made which connects to existing tar road.

No There will be no new road, rail, air, water transport infrastructure. Only temporary roads will be made to connect project site to main tar roads.

The ultimate depth of mining is up to 3m bgl. The mining will be restricted above one meter of ground water table.

No ground water intersection is involved hence no change is anticipated in the hydrology of water courses or aquifers by the mining operation

from ground or surface waters? Yes Total water requirement is about 11.49 KLD (1.93

No There will be no change in the flow pattern of the River Bed.

River bed mining will be channelized river but will not affect the surface run-off.

No No construction is proposed. Personnel from surrounding areas coming for employment will use state transport and other available means of transportation for reaching the site.

No Mostly local people will be employed to carry out sand extraction. So no influx of people will be there temporarily or permanently.

1.30 Loss of native species or genetic diversity?

No There will be no loss of genetic diversity but some native species may be loss due to the mining. This loss of native species will be compensated by proposed plantation of native spices at allocated places suggested by the Gram Panchayat/ State authorities. It will help to sustain the surrounding environment. Some local herbs and shrubs are present near mine site. Therefore, there is no threat of loss of genetic diversity.

Yes Total water requirement is about 11.49 KLD (1.93 KLD - Domestic Uses) + 6.67KLD - Plantation + 2.89 KLD -Dust Suppression).

2.3 Minerals (MT) No No mineral will be used for the mining operation in river bed; on the other hand mineral will be produced.

Boulder, Gravel & Sand will be excavated from riverbed but not utilized in this project.

No No construction activity is proposed. Only temporary office/rest shelter etc. will be provided.

Yes All the activities will be carried out by semi mechanized method of mining. So no power requirement for the project. As excavator, Backhoe and loaders will run by Generator & total diesel required will be decided later stage of project as per demand.

Yes If proper hygienic environment will not be maintained, there will be chances of water borne diseases.

3.5 Any other causes Yes On long term basis person working in the mine can be affected by lung disease due to dust, however all precautions will be taken to prevent generation of dust by water sprinkling at its source. The mine worker will also be medically examined as per statutory provisions.

1. The Projects involving clearance under Coastal Regulation Zone Notification, 1991 shall

submit with the application a C.R.Z map duly demarcated by one of the authorized

agencies, showing the project activities, w.r.t. C.R.Z. and the recommendations of the state

Coastal Zone management Authority. Simultaneous action shall also be taken to obtain the

requisite clearance under the provisions of the C.R.Z. Notification, 1991 for the activities to

be located in the CRZ.

2. The projects to be located within 10 km of the National Parks, Sanctuaries, Biosphere

Reserves, Migratory Corridors of Wild Animals, the project proponent shall submit the map

duly authenticated by Chief Wildlife Warden showing these features vis-à-vis the project

location and the recommendations or comments of the Chief Wildlife Warden thereon.”

application for TOR/ Environmental Clearance, subsequent clarifications, as may be

required from time to time, participation in the EAC Meeting on behalf of the project
