Green Country Classic Mustangs General Meeting July 6, 2017

Speedy's Open Meeting – The meeting was called to order at 7PM by Roger Bynum. Present - 57 Members, 2 guests Approval of Minutes - The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed. Open Issues

• Sarah Frey from Gatesway came to say how excited they are to be partnering with us for the show. Sarah said she got her first car thanks to a mustang that her brother had purchased, so she got his old car. Gatesway started in 1963 by Helen Gates because of her son Jack Gates. Her son was born with a disability and she was told that when he was 18, that he was going to have to go to a nursing home, due to the fact that there was no place that he can go. So that’s how Gatesway was born. 1972 current location in BA purchased, it currently houses 450 cli-ents, mostly adults, and there is now a transition program that works with high school juniors and seniors that teaches them life and job skills.

• Sarah also left a flyer for Docloc, which is a shredding company that is owned by Gatesway, see flyer in newsletter.

• Lots going on for the festival, sunrise & sunset glows all days, our show will be in the middle of the festival.

• Volunteers will be needed the entire weekend of the festival, please let Troy know if you would be willing to volun-teer, and he will let Sarah know.

• This show will be a life changer for the clients of Gatesway. Some of the sponsors for the show will be:

• Channel 2 & their 5 radio stations

• Landon Publishing -PAC magazine, and Tulsa People, there will be a full page ad running this month.

• Also, the city of BA is very excited for the festival.

• Keith Tinsley & Dawn Murphy will be leaving us, and moving to Seattle. We will miss you guys a lot! Review of Shelby Meet

• Good show despite weather issues early morning. We had quite a few folks that we supposed to judge not come to show because of weather. We also lost a few cars due to

• Complaints- Some people were not aware that we judge cars on cleanliness. Sometimes, that is the only way to break a tie. Cleanliness is sometimes the difference in cars.

• We may change things up for next years show. Mid-America was pleased with our response to problems and com-plaints. If you want a copy of your judging sheet, please get with John and he will email it to you.

Jim Liner/Leanne Taylor

• Derek Fritz made memorial plaques for us to display in cars at funeral. Most of those were donated to family after. We have a few available, pick up after tonight’s meeting.

• If you went to the funeral, you will probably get a Thank you card in the mail from the family. Leanne said they may be selling the 15, she may ask the club for guidance if that happens. Thanks to Larry Love, who went to funer-al, but stayed in the parking lot to watch the cars.

Upcoming

• 7/8 2nd Saturday cruise & farmers market in downtown Coweta, meeting at QT 7:30 HWY 51 & 81st

• 7/20 Rock the Block- Downtown Sapulpa

• Steve Young- No definite date for August dinner cruise, may be around August 21st, since there will be quite a few people leaving end of that week to go to Kansas City. Will send out an email closer to time.

• Steve Armstrong- 7/15 Pioneer Woman Mercantile. Taking scenic route, not going to eat at the Merc, going to Mexican food restaurant nearby. Maybe going to Blue Stem lake after lunch.

Calendar Sponsor Update

• Bud Jesse & Kevin Keith each taking ½ of expense, so our part should be free, profits will go back into club to sup-port our charities.

• We have four spots open for calendar, Mary handed out tickets to people at meeting who had not been in a calen-dar yet. Winners are

• July- Johnny Perry

• August- John & Kelly Hemby

• October- Bob Huntsinger

• December- Mike & LaNora Bean

• Also, we will be putting Jim Liner in the calendar this year. This was put to vote at meeting and approved. No racing report

MCA News and Door Prizes - Ron Watkins • All info has been turned into MCA for show, will hopefully be in Mustang mag next issue.

• We still need door prizes for show in September. Please make sure you give them to Ron. • Open Discussion

• Melvin Little - July 22nd, show in Hominy, Melvin needs a few folks to judge. Melvin working on new sponsor as well.

• Kevin Keith - Kissee has new GT350 white with blue stripes, also a Focus R/S.

• They are still offering $100 over invoice for members. 50/50 $10.00 Dinner- Larry Love $70.00- Steve Young. Adjournment at 7:40pm by Roger Bynum.

Green Country Classic Mustangs Board Meeting July 25, 2017

Speedy's

Opening - The General Meeting was called to order at 6:56 by Roger Bynum. Present - 14 Board Members, 2 visitors Open Issues

• 2016 Calendars have now been marked down to $10. 18 Calendar will be available by September. Voted and ap-proved price of 2019 calendars @ $10 due to sponsorship money.

• Roger will not be here for the August 1st General meeting, Troy & John will handle. He may also miss the Sep-tember meeting.

• Some discussion about the sponsorship forms, may change them up as to what you get for sponsorship. Will start as new and renewals are initiated.

• Also, if you get anyone that wants to sponsor the club, please let Steve Young know so he can keep track of when their sponsorship begins and ends. Nothing will be done with sponsorship until money has been received.

• We do know that Ron’s hamburgers will not be renewing. They sold the company earlier this year.

• Sponsorship committee has been formed. Ron Magnusson, Ron Watkins & Steve Young will head this up. Jamie Jackson will also be involved.

Round-up - Troy • Troy sent email with map for show, the run that was scheduled for about the same time as the show has been

moved to NSU, so we will not have to worry about that now.

• Alan brought out samples of trophies. They will look like license plates, will have 1st, 2nd & 3rd place plates. We will need to purchase material, should need 1 sheet @ $60.00 which equals out to be about $5.00 per trophy. Ron W suggested to do Top 3 or Top 5 instead of 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Franca said at the last meeting that we could maybe put balloons on them, and someone else brought that up again tonight. John brought some spon-sorship papers for Alan, so he would know what names to put on trophies as far as sponsorship of the trophy goes.

• T-Shirts - Russell Anderson quoted $11.35 for 100 shirts, and $2.00 extra for XL or above. Place by Crystal’s work quoted $10.75. Shirts will be a light grey color, and the material is pretty soft.

• Jim Liner Award - Maybe- will talk to family to see if they want to pick a car, Alan will check with the material company to see if they have a champagne color for that trophy.

• Setup/Teardown- Melvin. Please talk to Mel Sr to help!

• We should need about 10-11 tables and chairs.

• Troy said that we will be able to use the big stage for trophy presentation, Steve Y will bring his PA system so we can use that.

• We will also have Dale Turner as a DJ. Dale Turner is his name. He is pretty reasonable, $200 for the day.

• Jim Massey had asked Troy at a dinner cruise if his detail guy could come out and detail cars, Troy checked with Sarah, and they have no problem with him being there, and since he is a vendor, he wouldn’t be charged by us. He will have a booth set up.

• Gatesway is now having weekly meetings for festival, they have raised $75,000 in sponsorship money. Adjournment - Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 by Roger Bynum.
