One area of our product portfolio that has seen a complete overhaul is our bedchair and chair range. All of the models in the 2012 range are new and have been designed to take your bankside comfort to whole new level.

At the top of the pile is, without doubt, our revolutionary FX Flatliner bedchair. This outstanding bedchair is the result of over two years worth of research, development and testing. Featuring a number of unique features, with patents pending, the Flatliner really is a prime example of the ongoing innovation that is taking place within the product development team here at Fox.

In addition to the Flatliner bedchair we have also introduced two new Royale bedchairs for anglers who still want an incredibly comfortable bedchair but at a lower price than the Flatliner. The word revolutionary is often overused in carp fi shing but every now and again a new product comes along that will truly revolutionize by setting new standards in terms of innovation, functionality and quality. One such product is our new FX Flatliner bedchair, which is the result of over two years of research and development, not to mention rigorous fi eld-testing!

With a number of patents pending the Flatliner is probably the most comfortable bedchair ever produced and sets a new benchmark in the bedchair market. And these are not just the opinions of people within

Fox! Magazine editors and tackle industry experts that have seen, and indeed used the Flatliner, have shared the same opinion. Take for example Marc Coulson, editor of the UKs largest carp magazine, Total Carp. During the 10 years that Marc has worked in the carp fi shing industry he has tested and used pretty much every bedchair around. When it comes to bedchair design and comfort he knows what he is looking for and that is why our FX Flatliner is the bedchair that he uses for his own fi shing!

bedchair on the market to be just as, if not even more, comfortable than your bed at home. You will notice that there is no angle to the head end and no built-in pillow. At home you sleep on a fl at bed and build your head up with pillows, so why not apply the same theory when sleeping on the bank?

Over 25 years ago we were the designers of the original, fi rst-ever bedchair, and in recent times it is fair to say that other companies have started to catch up. However, with the revolutionary new FX Flatliner, Fox have well and truly reclaimed their throne as the king of bedchair manufacturers! Double Hinge Bracket at the foot end.

This creates a void when folded to store a standard 3 Season bag.

Even Flow Elastic. This gives more consistent tension around the outside of the mattress.

Twist-Lok legs, which can be operated with one hand. Simply twist the mechanism on the leg and the foot will fall into position. Then let go of the mechanism and it will automatically lock the leg into position it couldnt be easier!

The Flatliner features a unique Double Hinge Bracket on the foot-end that has been designed to create a void inside the bedchair when it is folded away. This therefore allows enough space for a standard-sized 3-season sleeping bag to be folded inside. Some other bedchairs achieve this by putting an angle in the actual frame at the head end, which severely hinders your sleeping position and comfort as you cannot lie flat!

Even Flow Elastic has several benefits. Most other bedchairs use at least four lengths of elastic, where as the Flatliner only uses two, which start and finish at the head and foot ends and also run through the Cam (unlike any other bedchair on the market). This means that there are no sections of the mattress that are not elasticated, and therefore gives a much more consistent tension and firmer feel to the mattress

Mattress utilizes eyelets instead of the fabric loops. Eyelets allow the elastic to stretch when you sit on the bedchair and then retract when you get off of it. In addition the eyelets have been very carefully positioned around the perimeter of the mattress to ensure maximum support is achieved. They are positioned as close as they can be to the legs to ensure an even tension on the mattress

The frame is constructed from an oval aluminium, which is not only incredibly strong but also makes the frame surprisingly light

We appreciate that not all anglers can either afford or justify spending the money that our revolutionary Flatliner bedchair commands, so we felt it only right that we should also offer a lower priced bedchair under the Royale badge.

Despite its lower price tag, the three leg Royale bedchair is still incredibly comfortable - if we are being brutally honest, in our opinion it puts many other top end bedchairs to shame! We have tried to keep the frame a fl at as possible, as we know from the development of the Flatliner that the fl atter the bedchair the greater your comfort. In addition we have used a very well-padded fl eece mattress and two elasticated lumbar support mid-sections in order to further enhance the comfort factor.

The Royale bedchair is also available in a wider, XL version for anglers who require a little extra room! This year we have given our bivvy range a complete overhaul and replaced our Ranger, Equazer, Eclipse (with exception of 2.5man Euro) and Warrior Hood with the vastly upgraded Voyager, Refl ex, Retreat and Royale. By utilizing the very latest technology and materials available to us and taking a fresh approach to how a bivvy is actually designed, we believe that Fox bivvies offer you the best shelter options on the market.

In addition, we have kept both of our brolly models (FX 60 and Warrior Oval) from 2011 as they have proved to be incredibly popular with anglers who require a lightweight, versatile shelter that offers unrivalled value for money.

All of our domes and shelters have been rigorously tested over prolonged periods of time, allowing us to ensure that all of the keys areas such as stability, waterproofi ng, breathability, user-friendliness, size and functionality are spot on. The eye-catching new Voyager takes all of the best features from our old Ranger bivvy and combines them with our fresh approach to bivvy design. Its unique pram-hood design makes this shelter incredibly spacious inside giving you plenty of room for your bedchair, food, tackle and all other essentials that you take on a session. Constructed from our market-leading Ven-Tec material, the Voyager is not only waterproof and breathable but also incredibly hard wearing.

One of the main design changes is at the rear of the shelter where we have used a larger back panel, combined with a longer rear rib, that vastly increases the internal space within the bivvy. In addition we have also moved the rear pegging points out and added extra pegging points to increase space. These changes now make it much easier to place your bedchair right into the back of the shelter so you have more usable space at the front.

Our old Eclipse bivvy has been incredibly popular and we could have probably left it as it was for 2012. However, as new technology, materials and design concepts become available we feel it only right that we should make use of them to offer our customers the very best products possible. With this in mind our team of product developers took the Eclipse concept, kept all of the best features and then added a whole host of new features to create the beautifully named Retreat.

Based on a traditional pram-hood design, the Retreat offers incredible interior space, thanks in part to a number of design tweaks at the rear of the bivvy. Firstly a larger back panel has been used and combined with a longer rear rib. The rear pegging points have been moved and increased in number so that you can now place your bedchair right to the back of the bivvy. Even with all of your tackle, food, clothes and bait in the bivvy you will still have enough room for the kitchen sink and to swing the odd cat!

Based on our now legendary Equazer design,this sexy-looking new Refl ex bivvy is every tackle tarts dream! Featuring eye-catching fl exible black aero-grade aluminium poles with our carpy green Ven-Tec material and a much more user-friendly high back, the Refl ex not only looks the part its performance is outstanding.

Due to the design of the Refl ex, it is an incredibly lightweight yet highly versatile shelter. This means that it is as equally suited to the short-session angler, who likes to be on the move, as it is to the long-session angler who likes to sit it out and enjoy some creature comforts. The Refl ex also features three ribs with just two breaks in them each, which means its packed size is slim, making it very quiver/holdall friendly.

The perfect lightweight shelter for short session fi shing, the Oval FX60 is constructed from our top-of-the-range Ven-Tec material, which is the most breathable and waterproof fabric we can get out hands on. It has a 60in (152cm) frame, and four of the back ribs touch the fl oor, a feature which adds a lot of extra stability, especially in strong winds.

This system comes supplied with two 24in (61cm) and two 48in (122cm) storm poles that can be used to further increase stability. In addition the system also comes supplied with a fully detachable front that makes the FX60 a truly versatile option. Designed to hold a large System F Box perfectly the legs of this bivvy table are fi tted with Foxs Cam Loks and each can easily be extended up to 31cm to cope with uneven ground. The whole table folds fl at for transportation with the legs secured by an anti-twist locking system. The actual table top measures 47cm x 31cm.

There is nothing worse than a cluttered bivvy and this table is designed to keep you organised inside your shelter so everything you need is immediately to hand. The main area is perfectly sized for a large System F Box and the smaller side area perfect for smaller items such as your keys, phone and that all-important cuppa! Surface area 49cm x 29cm.

There is nothing worse than having mud in your bivvy and the new Fox Bivvy Mat is designed to keep it exactly where it belongs outside. Robust, with strategically placed pegging points and a neoprene foot wipe, our new bivvy mat keeps the inside of your shelter clean and is easy to wash in the lake at the end of your session. It also doubles up as an excellent rod mat to prevent splashback onto your rods, reels and indicators.

This mesh fi ts most conventional 60 inch brollies, including our Oval FX 60 and Warrior 60ins Brolly, to offer complete insect-proof coverage of the front. It works simply by clipping onto the central hub at the top of the brolly with an elasticated cord system securing it to the front and sides and peg attachment to the ground. Here at Fox International we take great pride in striving to produce the fi nest ranges of tackle to meet the demands of anglers across the board. Last year our team of leading product designers and in-house CAD engineers developed two ranges of luggage which over the past year have become two of the most popular ranges ever launched.

The brief was clear to set new standards in terms of design, functionality and durability, and the result? Well we basically took luggage design to a whole new level!

The idea was to produce a range of top end luggage, the crme de la crme if you like, utilising all of the very best materials. The result was our FX range, which one year down the line has fi rmly established itself as the best range of luggage on the market. In addition, we appreciate that not everyone can afford or justify buying FX luggage, so we designed a second range of more affordable products under the Royale banner. Dont be fooled into thinking that due to its lower price tag the build quality has suffered. We have still utilised top quality materials on the Royale range, in fact some leading tackle experts have said that the Royale range is actually better than many other manufacturers top end luggage a fantastic compliment. Both ranges were designed to be functional, not just on the bank but also logistically when you are packing them or loading them into a car or onto a barrow. From fl at, snag-free backs and strategically placed EVA handles to make loading of holdalls easier, to improved and strengthened double 10mm zips and high impact plastic buckles, no stone was left unturned. And its not only the straps that have been given the utmost attention, all grab handles are made of stiffened EVA to spread the load far more effi ciently. Furthermore, all buckles and clips are made from heavy-duty glass fi lled nylon meaning you do not need to fear them becoming brittle or snapping when the temperatures plummet.

The list of features really does appear to be endless, and further outstanding features include specially crafted zip pullers that are ergonomically designed to fi t your thumb, webbing embossed with the Fox head and Fox logo, moulded bases where needed, specially designed pockets that allows the items in the range to be used with one another, plus the classy and distinct rubber badge on every item.

Many other luggage manufacturers will claim that their products have been designed by anglers for anglers, but it is only when you look closely at the design and functionality of the FX range that you realise that in our case it is actually true!

You may be wondering what it is that makes the FX range of luggage sit head and shoulders above other ranges? Firstly there is the sheer attention to detail which has seen our in-house design team examine and evaluate every single item in the range on an individual basis. The brief when designing the range was simple to make the most practical luggage, to the highest standards, whilst removing as much fabric as possible to keep the size and weight of each item to the bare minimum. And talking of fabric we have used the fi nest 1050 denier Cordura for every item in the FX range. This material is not only incredibly light, it is also both waterproof and very hardwearing. This means that when you purchase an item of FX luggage youre making a long term investment that will stand the test of time.
