Suffixes -ed and -ing
Suffixes are small parts
at the end of words that
have meaning. The suffix
-ed on the end of a verb
tells us that this is a past
tense verb. The suffix -
ing on the end of a verb
tells us that it is
happening now (present
tense).
How many words can you
think of that end in -ed
and -ing? eg. jumped,
jumping, run, running,
etc. Make a list of at least
ten verbs and write them
with the suffixes-ed and -
ing.
Prefix: re-
Prefixes are small parts at
the beginning of words

words as you can that
contain the prefix. You
can keep adding to your
list throughout the week!

The Tree Door
Story starter!

was lurking within.
One day, the heavy,
wooden doors slowly
began to open with a
groan…
Can you continue the
story of the mysterious
door?
Write down your story
