1.3. What our past APICS participants say… "We recently finished our APICS Principles of Operations Management Course for Sealed Air which was well received by 17 participants from different areas of the organization. The good thing about this new course was that it could be tailored-fit to suit the company's needs as well as employees' understanding on how the end-to-end processes of Supply Chain works. This is how we have constructed the topics and sessions on our APICS Principles of Operations Management Course with the objective of giving the broad knowledge of the supply chain (from start - suppliers to end - distribution/customer) for Sealed Air Supply Chain team. The NZPICS team has been very knowledgeable and supportive in constructing our course outline. Jane, Julia, Craig and Denzil were all amazing putting their talents together to deliver the expectations“. – Elvira Cruz, Planning Officer - Sealed Air New Zealand Limited. "As a recent graduate of CPIM, I have found that the course has given me a broader understanding of the Supply Chain and has allowed ideas and strategies to come into play within the work environment. The ability to operate tactically whilst keeping a strategic overview has been of immense help and CPIM has provided that ability. The course provides benefits to all layers of the Supply Chain and is well worth undertaking. The small classroom sessions are great for being able to ask questions to understand the concepts and to network with fellow Supply Chain professionals“. - Iain Murphy, CPIM - Procurement Specialist, O-I New Zealand. "Earlier this year I completed my CPIM Qualification. Best thing I ever did. I had been a Production Planner for many years before I decided to upskill my qualifications starting with APICS Basics in Supply Chain Management. The added knowledge I gained from that course gave me the incentive to continue on and complete all of the courses. This has helped all aspects of my roll immensely, and at work my APICS Dictionary is now my most used reference book. I would highly recommend the CPIM courses to any person working within the Production Planning and inventory fields“. - Patricia Cuming, CPIM - Production Planner, Best Bars. "I found the APICS CSCP Learning System to be a very effective method of learning with the right balance of online and hardcopy tools to enable knowledge acquisition. I was very satisfied with the experience. The content is up to date and encompasses the very best in terms of best practice and tried and true processes for success. In my opinion the APICS CSCP Certification has enhanced my body of knowledge and breadth of experience in end to end Supply Chain Operations. I would recommend the APICS CSCP program to all Supply Chain professionals“. - Andrew Anquetil, CSCP - National Procurement Manager, Te Wanaga o Aotearoa. “I liked the SCOR-P Endorsement Course. It outlines a comprehensive, proven model and introduces a performance improvement framework which is just as relevant for new supply chain professionals, as it is for consultants wishing to incorporate it as part of their practice”. – Wes Wernicki, CPIM, CSCP, SCOR-P, Ex-IRD, Currently Supply Chain Performance Improvement Consultant “I have recently completed my CLTD, Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution and it was an interesting experience as my past experience is predominantly in the front of the supply chain, i.e., planning, purchasing, demand management, inventory management and manufacturing. CLTD gave me an in depth understanding of how the logistics and distribution work in the extended supply chain. I was one of the first few hundred people across the globe to take up this course and complete it in the 1st attempt. I highly recommend this course to all those who work in the logistics sphere”. – Vishnu Rayapeddi, B. Pharmacy (Honours), MBA (Ops.), CSCP, CLTD - Client Solutions Manager, NZPICS

How APICS keeps its courses relevant

APICS curricula are updated annually by practitioners and educators. This ensures that the curricula remains current and relevant

APICS Certification exams are “high stakes” All exams are psychometrically validated Exam content is developed independently from the courseware APICS exams are accredited by NCCRS

APICS Certification follows industry best practices exam creation and administration including:

Ensuring evidence of assessment validity and reliability: APICS periodically conduct Job Task Analysis (JTA) surveying thousands of supply chain professionals about the tasks that they are engaged in and the importance and frequency of those tasks. That information is reviewed by subject matter experts and a psychometrician (a statistician who specializes in ensuring that each test is reliable and that all test results are valid) and then is passed on to the APICS exam committee.

Subject matter experts assist in the development of the assessment instrument: The APICS exam committee is made up of subject matter experts who use the data from the JTA to create the exam content manual (exam content outline, list of vocabulary terms and references). Exam items (questions) are developed by other subject matter experts, from the references, and are validated by the psychometrician.

Providing test takers with adequate learning opportunities and resources to prepare for the assessment: APICS provides a variety of exam preparation materials, but does not restrict anyone from taking our exams based on how they prepared. They may use our material, they may go to class, they may study on their own, they may not prepare at all; we don't "force" candidates to take one of our classes or read our materials before they can take the exam.

2. 1. e. SCOR-P: APICS Supply Chain Operations Reference Model – Professional Endorsement

NZPICS is pleased to offer on-site training that provides in–depth understanding of the of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR®) model, widely recognized as the global standard for supply chain management. The Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR®) model describes the business activities associated with all phases of satisfying a customer’s demand. The model itself is organized around the six primary management processes of Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return and Enable. Using these process building blocks, the SCOR model can be used to describe supply chains that are very simple or very complex using a common set of definitions across disparate industries. Today public and private organizations and companies around the world use the model as a foundation for global and site-specific supply chain improvement projects. SCOR spans all customer interactions (quote to cash), all physical material transactions (procure to payment, including equipment, supplies, spare parts, bulk product, software, etc.) and all market interactions (manufacturing, from the understanding of aggregate demand to the fulfilment of each order). The model is designed and maintained to support supply chains of various complexities and across multiple industries. The model focuses on three process levels and does not attempt to prescribe how a particular organization should conduct its business or tailor its systems or information flow. The people section introduced in SCOR 11.0 provides a means for managing talent in the supply chain by incorporating a standard for describing the expertise required to perform tasks and manage processes. The SCOR skills management complements the existing process, metrics, and practice reference components by aligning people and their skills to the processes. SCOR-P Endorsement The SCOR Professional (SCOR-P) endorsement program establishes a global standard of excellence for applying SCOR. The endorsement provides a practical method for assessing the skills and competencies of your personnel and recruits, and a method for evaluating the effectiveness of training. This will direct you to the Pearson VUE scheduling system where you can choose a new examination date.

20. If candidates need to reschedule their exam appointment to a different window, they should follow the cancellation policy below.

21. Cancellation Policy

Candidates have the option to cancel their exam appointment with Pearson VUE by logging into their My APICS account and going to the My APICS Certifications page, selecting Exam Authorization and Credits and selecting the “Reschedule” option next to their exam. Candidates must pay the USD $45 cancellation fee. Candidates will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE. This does not cancel the ATT. All ATT purchases are non-refundable.

22. Before canceling the examination, if you wish to test in a later testing window, it is the responsibility of the candidate

to ensure that their authorization is valid for the next testing window. If a candidate cancels an exam and their authorization is not valid for another window, they will need to reschedule in the same window and the candidate forfeits their cancellation fee. No refunds or transfers will be issued. You must cancel your examination through your My APICS account or by contacting Pearson VUE directly. APICS cannot accept cancellation requests by email.

23. Once the cancellation has been processed, candidates should allow one business day for the cancellation information to be updated in the APICS system. Once the cancellation has been updated, candidates will receive a new confirmation email with the same window and expiration information. At that time, candidates can then access the ATT

form at www.apics.org/att and select the View/Update an existing Authorization to Test option to choose a new exam window. If a candidate chooses a new window that starts within six months of the original date the ATT was issued, no additional fees will be assessed. If a candidate selects a new window that starts after 6 months from the original ATT issue date, they must pay a new exam fee. No refunds or transfers will be issued.

24. Additional Information

Exam fees are forfeited for no-shows. Exceptions may be made for medical or other emergencies. If candidates miss the exam due to an emergency, they must contact Pearson VUE within 10 business days after the exam date. Pearson VUE contact information can be found at Pearson VUE Customer Service. Candidates must submit written documentation to Pearson VUE in order to have their request reviewed. Only authorized emergencies will be considered. Additional information regarding all APICS examinations can be found by visiting APICS Procedure Exam Bulletins.

25. A service fee of $10 will be applied to all reservations, reschedules or cancellations completed by the Pearson VUE Call Center. This fee will be in addition to any applicable reschedule or cancellation fee.

4. Other Courses &/or On Demand 4.1 CDDP/CDDL – Certified Demand Driven Planner/Leader 4.2 Short Courses

4.1 CDDP/CDDL – Certified Demand Driven Planner/Leader

The purpose of the Certified Demand Driven Leader (CDDL) Program is to equip senior and mid-level operations and supply chain managers with the ability to design, implement, sustain and adapt a Demand Driven supply chain. The program spans Planning, Operations, Distribution and Finance. Gartner has included the Certified Demand Driven Leader (CDDL) program in its Market Guide for Supply Chain Program in its Market Guide for Supply Chain Certification Programs. It is one of ten programs in the guide. Gartner clients can access the report here. The CDDL is a necessary cog in supporting the implementation of Demand Driven approach by giving mid-level and senior management, an across the board look at flow, and the concepts needed to support flow. Without that support, Demand Driven implementations are always at risk. The CDDL program consists of seven modules covers

Logistics/Supply Chain

Financer & Metrics

Demand Driven Sales & Operations Planning

Supply Order generation, control and execution

It incorporates the concept of "Smart Metrics" - What are the right metrics to encourage and sustain flow within a company and across a supply chain, to maximise ROI?

The CDDL is broader in concept than the Certified Demand Driven Planner (CDDP) program, which focuses specifically on sales order management. About 15% of the material in CDDP is covered in CDDL to provide an overview of the topics.

There is an optional exam included in the price. Testing is completed through the international Supply Chain

Education Alliance (ISCEA)'s iProctor system after course completion and through scheduled testing sessions.

Upon successful completion of the exam participants receive a CDDL certificate and may place "CDDL" in their

professional title.

CDDP is deeper and focused on DDMRP and Demand Driven Execution – specifically sales order management. CDDL encompasses the entire scope but will not cover DDMRP at the same depth. CDDL has a broader breadth than the CDDP. The CDDL is concerned about system (not computer system – business system) management. The CDDL Program is comprised of seven modules delivered in 16 over a 2 day time range. Testing is then completed through the ISCEA's iProctor system after course completion and through scheduled testing sessions. Upon successful completion of the exam participants receive a CDDL certificate and may place "CDDL" in their professional title. How does the CDDL compare to the CDDP? There is some overlap between the programs. The material in the DDMRP and DDDRP sections of the CDDL is redundant on the CDDP Program material. The CDDP goes into much greater depths on these topics. That material, however, will constitute only about 15% of the total CDDL.
