COMMENTARY

2017; Strengthening Working Relations

In the first three months of this year we have continued to further strengthen key working relations with our Agents for whom we have organised another intensive training session on Selling & Serving with a Smile, whilst also incorporating a session on Responsible Gaming.

We also kept yearly appointments and commitments with other stakeholders and organisations close to the Maltese people. Maltco Lotteries has met Her Excellency Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and presented a €10,000 donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Separately we are also collaborating with the Responsible Gaming Foundation in which we are sponsoring a newly introduced Masters University Degree in Responsible Gaming Research.

Maltco Lotteries has always showed its support towards the local sport sector, this year is no different; in February we have presented last year’s Journalist Sport Awards winners with a cheque of €500 to each 7 winning categories, whilst again supporting this year’s Award Ceremony organised by Sport Malta and Ghaqda Gurnalisti Sports. Obviously apart from supporting CSR activities we always keep our customer at the centre of our operation. Recently, we have introduced the ‘Maltco Innovation Contest 2017’, a new contest for Maltco Agents, Sellers, Assistants and Employees to come up with new game ideas for the local market.

The aim of the contest is to foster innovation and give participants the opportunity to contribute ideas for new game concepts. Through this initiative, the continuous open dialogue between all Maltco Agents and Employees is being converted into game innovative ideas. And who else, can understand the customer’s best needs– if not the ones working closest to them?!

Mr Vasileios KasiotakisCEO – Maltco Lotteries Ltd.

Maltco Lotteries have undertaken another programme in the series

to train all Maltco personnel including agents and their assistants on Responsible Gaming together with a specialised module on ‘Selling & Serving with a Smile’, in line with Maltco Lotteries operating principles to offer high-quality customer service in a friendly and welcoming environment.

A foreign expert who specialises in Sales and Customer techniques, trained Maltco’s Training Coach Stephan Magrin, who, embarked on the chosen theme for this training focusing on the importance of the service provided by the agents and assistants to all Maltco Customers.

Topics and interactive workshops during the training were: positive attitude, sales, product benefits & selling lines, objection handling and the developing on oneself.

ALS is a degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. As the disease progresses, the body’s motor neurones stop sending signals to the muscles until the muscles start to die, eventually leading to paralysis. There is no known cure. The disease’s paralysing effect means homes for ALS patients must be specially equipped to allow residents to control every aspect of daily life using just their eyes. Anything from lifts, doors, computers and television must be adapted.

Maltco Lotteries thanks the 35 participating Agents for their support and cooperation, and shows its appreciation to Mr. Bjorn Formosa for the admirable and noticeable work he’s doing in aid of ALS Malta. The total sum of €3,610; raised during the event, was presented to the ALS Malta. .

Fund Raising Event, organised by the University of Malta’s Institute of Physical Education & Sport in collaboration with the Siggiewi Local Council. The 1hour walkathon was held Sunday, 12th March, starting from St. Nicholas Square, Siggiewi and returning to Siggiewi.
