Most 9th grade student take Physical Science
Taking Physical Science in 9th grade does two important things: Fulfills the Physical Science requirements for
graduation Prepares the student for the 9th grade content
standards that are assessed on the OGT in 10th
grade

Science Option Select students may opt out of the
recommended freshman science classif they meet ALL of the following requirements:1) an “advanced” or “accelerated” score on the
OAA2) an A or B in eighth grade science3) the recommendation of their current (middle
school) science teacher 4) A parent signature is required on the
registration form for this option

Students that took Spanish 1 in 8th grade and received an A, should sign up for Honors Spanish 2
Students that took Spanish 1 in 8th grade and received a B or C should sign up for Spanish 2
Students that received below a C- in Spanish 1 should repeat Spanish 1 or choose French or American Sign Language
