TRACK MEETS/PARKING

• NO PARKING NEAR TRACK DURING PRACTICE. PARK POLICE WILL GIVE YOU A FAT TICKET.• PARK IN PARKING LOT D FOR ALL TRACK

MEETS.• PARK IN PARKING LOT B FOR PRACTICE, UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE.• DO NOT DRIVE UP THE HILL BY TRACK. THE KIDS PRACTICE RIGHT THERE.

REGISTRATION • The Glenarden Track Club Outdoor Season began on March 30, 2015.• Practice is held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 p.m.

until 7:30 p.m. at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex. • Registration will conclude April 22, 2015. Payment will be due no later

than 2 weeks from the date that your child begins practice. For registrations done after April 9, payment will be due the day of registration.

• The only exception to the deadline will be for those athletes who are currently participating in High School, Junior High School or Private School track programs.

• The registration fee for the season is $180.00 for each athlete. The athletes from High School, Junior High School or Private School track programs that register after May 18, 2015 will pay $140.00.

• Uniforms will be issued to all registered athletes on April 21, 2015.

REGISTRATION (continued)• Registration fee covers:

– Costs to register for meets, – Uniforms (blue and white Glenarden shorts and top)– Athletic bag (for new athletes only) – Yellow Glenarden T-shirt– Sweatsuit (blue jogging pants and white hoodie)– USATF card– Miscellaneous items such as Gatorade (which is provided for the athletes at all

meets),ointments used to rub the athletes down at meets,– Batons and other equipment

• Any athlete can purchase a new bag for a cost of $40.00. • No athlete will receive a uniform until his/her registration fee has been

paid.• At registration time, all athletes must submit a completed medical form. • All new athletes must submit a copy of his/her birth certificate within a

week of registration.

Airfare Plans to Chicago• The club has already reserved tickets on Southwest

Airlines for 100 ATHLETES. • Hotel costs are not included in the airline ticket fare. • There are certain qualifying standards the athletes must meet to

participate in this meet. These standards will be provided to you. $318.00 - Total cost of roundtrip airfare for ATHLETES$100.00 - Deposit due by Monday, May 11, 2015$100.00 - 2nd payment due by Monday, June 1, 2015$118.00 - Balance due by Wednesday, June 24, 2015

REMINDER: NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY PAYMENTS. CASH, MONEY ORDERS OR CERTIFIED CHECKS ONLY (made payable to Glenarden Track Club).

Why Do We Need Fundraisers??• To offset costs of athletes’ travel • To raise money to:– Purchase water/gatorade/snacks/food– Pay for certain track meet entry fees– Purchase tents and tarps, etc.– Purchase equipment (hurdles, shotput, batons, etc.)– Pay for rental vans/gas while on travel– Purchase cooking equipment for catering/concessions– Host Nationals cookout and Awards cookout– Provide assistance to athletes in need– Provide condolences for GATC members & family

OTHER WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS

• Money received from

Verizon for volunteer work performed by or on behalf of individuals who work at Verizon can be used to offset travel costs.

• Sixty percent (60%) of any Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) donations to the Club can also be used to offset travel costs. The CFC donation number for the Glenarden Track Club is CFC #23385.
