2020-2021: Hopes & Dreams, Prospects & Possibilities

Our SJS Taskforce created 3 possible plans for the new school year: traditional

on-campus model, a hybrid model if necessary, or distance learning if required.

Traditional School If the government allows us to return to school,

we will be on campus!

• Closed campus

• Only carline for drop-off & pick-up

• Temperature taken in car

• No Perfect Attendance Award

o Please stay home if you don’t feel well.

• Morning assembly in classrooms

• Spaced seating

• Students remain in same desk all day

• Teachers switch classes

• Individual materials used

• Must bring own water bottle

• Different school Masses

• Separated lunch and recess times

• Marked standing places for restroom use

• Individual hand sanitizer use

Hybrid Model

If we are required to have limited

capacity, then we are developing a

schedule with alternating days on

campus with teacher instruction and

distance learning days with independent

practice.

Distance Learning We will only do Distance Learning if a

mandatory campus closure is decreed. • More structure

• More facetime with teachers via Zoom

• More small group instruction

• More accountability

• Schoolwide Learning Management System

• Google Classroom Orientation for students and

parents
