GEOLOGISTS COAL BED METHANE Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Exceptional opportunities in oil & gas.

Following recent expansion of Santos Coal Bed Methane (CBM) activities we haveexcellent opportunities to join the Santos CBM Team based in the Brisbane CBD.

Opportunities are available for Development/Production, Exploration/Appraisal and

Operations Geologists in a variety of roles.

As a CBM Exploration/Appraisal Geologist you will specifically:

Provide geoscience expertise in the identification, resource and riskassessment of the hydrocarbon potential of CBM prospects and appraisal in

    areas of responsibility.

Locate and identify all available and relevant data and informationnecessary for field-wide and semi regional geoscience studies.

Assist in identifying drilling and other delineation opportunities and preparedocumentation for approval.

Undertake geoscientific studies to address; quantify and mitigate the criticaltechnical risk(s) associated with exploration and appraisal of CBM resources.

Monitor drilling results, be onsite as required and assist in making operationalrecommendations concerning well evaluation. Ensure databases are kept up

    to date.

Review post-drill results Prepare reports and present the results of work as required. Prepare and document gas in place and gas reserve estimates using

mechanistic, deterministic and probabilistic methodologies as appropriate.

As a CBM Development/Production Geologist, you will specifically:

Provide Development Geology input into the preparation of FieldDevelopment Plans in areas of responsibility.

Design and oversee implementation of geological data acquisition andanalysis programs (rock, gas and fluid samples; wireline logs, mudlogs) for

    CBM appraisal and development activities.

Prepare and interpret of well cross sections using litho-stratigraphic andchrono-stratigraphic principles as appropriate.

Interpret well results (wireline, flow testing, rock and fluid samples) andintegrate with other data sets to generate or update sub-surface geological

    models.

Interpret laboratory results from coal samples (gas content, proximateanalysis, maceral analysis, vitrinite reflectance and other studies) to generate

    or update coal property maps.

Prepare 3D static models for assigned fields incorporating all available datausing appropriate geologic software. Assist in evaluating geological uncertainty in 3D static models and test

    sensitivities.

Assist the geophysicist with structural mapping of CBM fields by providing welltops, correlations, fault and fracture interpretation.

Prepare and document gas in place and gas reserve estimates usingmechanistic, deterministic and probabilistic methodologies as appropriate.

As a CBM Operations Geologist, you will specifically:

Be a focal point for Operations geology as it relates to existing and newdevelopment wells including support for drilling and work over activities for the

    Santos CBM fields.

Be responsible for the geological data acquisition and analysis (core, gascontent, etc) for all development activities.

Provide quality assurance of geological and well data acquisition andreporting

Optimise approach to development activities in conjunction with drilling, completions and connections teams, and production activity

Monitor drilling results, be onsite as required and assist in making operationalrecommendations concerning well evaluation. Ensure databases are kept up

    to date.

Review post-drill results Prepare reports and present the results of work as required.

Candidates are also expected to develop and maintain knowledge of geoscience

methods as applied in the CBM industry; participate in Santos Peer Review andrelated processes, and be familiar with and apply Santos EHS management system

    and policies.

Ideally, candidates for these positions will have, as a minimum, 4 year tertiary degree

in Geoscience. Applications are invited from Geoscientists with varied experience

levels and technical expertise in one or more of the key technical skill areas relevant

    to Santos CBM skills needs.
