JULY 2019

Givemore and Sylvia NyakambiriEquipping the church for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting — 2 Cor. 5:18-20

Givemore is excited with the progress of both Yamikani and Davis. These two work together as a team with Givemore to find ways to reach the communities

around Lilongwe with the gospel of the grace of God. They teamed up to open a preaching point in a village next to that which Davis pastors.

With the growing work at Kamoyo village, Givemore and the evangelism team visits to encourage the brethren by showing films that dramatize some struggles that new Christians face which are in vernacular languages. The gospel comes alive to them through these short films. Follow-up is done during the day. Church lead-ers get training in following up with new converts to help them grow in their new relationship with God. In so doing, they are cementing their knowledge to bibli-cal truths. Pray that these new converts will be taught well so they come to the knowledge of the grace of God and be able to share it with others.

Sylvia continues to be encouraged by God’s transforming power in ladies’ lives. The ladies which Sylvia teaches at Mbewa village not only memorize Scripture but are now able to prioritize Bible Study over their day-to-day chores and their small pay-ing jobs. Last Thursday one of the ladies left all she was doing to attend Bible Study. The lady who had hired her for the day allowed her to stop the work to resume after Bible study. Sylvia learned later that both of the ladies are in her group. Mary, a lady whom Sylvia is discipling, was equally thankful to God for such fruit from heart transformations. Pray that the ladies will be able to influence other ladies for Christ and be freed from the strongholds of evil influences brought by witch-doctors and gambling in the village.

As we desire for the message of sal-vation apart from works to spread

and take root in the hearts of hearers, Givemore is working with a national team comprised of Courtesy Kaline, the National Evangelism Director, and Evance Malongo and Nyadani who are District Evangelism Directors.

Church members are receiving on-the-job-training during evangelism training. This will be a springboard for them when they train future evangelists in the churches. A generation of evangelists keeps multiplying.

Thank you for helping us put God’s Word in the hands of those who cannot read written form. Putting the Word of God into their ears goes a long way in their daily study of Scriptures. Please pray that more of those who are illiterate will have an Audio Bible. Pray also that there would be more Audio Bibles to give to many new illiterate converts so they have a chance to hear the Word of God.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Sylvia and I visited Mauni church three weeks ago when they were raising funds to repair their roof and purchase doors. They made bricks for gable repairs and the extra was used to make brick benches. Mauni is an example of a self-sustaining church whose members take ownership of their church. Our aim is to plant such churches that also can plant sister churches in their surrounding communities. Pray that other churches will emulate Mauni church.

By the grace of God, Givemore and Sylvia are ministering to those in the cancer wards at the hospital. J-Nathan receives treatment at the same hospital. Praise God with us for his improving health. Thank you for your continual prayers for his recovery. Thank you as well for your generous donations. We get to see how your gracious gesture of God’s love brings smiles to suffering kids in the hospital. Through this, Givemore and the hospital has an opportunity to visit the cancer pa-tients receiving palliative care in villages and offer spiritual counseling. Please pray for wisdom as he counsels and comforts the patients together with their parents or guardians.

We hand aid to the cancer patients in hospital wards every month. We thank you heartily for the support and the prayers raised on behalf of these suffering kids. Pray for the recovery of these poor kids and their parents.

Single ladies have busy months ahead of them as summer approaches. This keeps them busy instead of getting involved in shameful activities in the night to feed their children. This is also offering help to youth who come to buy freezits (popsicles) for resale.
