Welcome to Jukebox, our 6th annual Glee Club production. Once again, we are excited to share with you the amazing talents of our students and staff. G Major is a special extracurricular activity which provides the opportunity for our high school students from across all grades to be joined by faculty & staff in a shared love of music.

As many of you know, our Glee National Team placed fi rst in the non-arts large ensemble category at this year’s Show Choir Canada Championships in Toronto. They also received awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography and Best Show Design. Thanks to the hard work and inspiration of our show’s Director, Candace Grynol, Head of our Performing Arts Department, and our incredible Technical Director, Aaron Stamboulieh, our Glee National Team not only placed fi rst, they also received a standing ovation from So You Think You Can Dance’s Sean Cheesman! Congratulations to all members of the team. Your work ethic, passion and support of each other was key to this success.

I am so pleased that students from our elementary after-school program will be opening the show this evening. Under the direction of ES Grade 6 music teacher, Evan Crandall, members of our E Minor club have been very hard at work preparing several songs to open the show, and I would like to thank them all for their dedication and commitment to this activity.

I would also like to thank the numerous choreographers who have worked diligently with both G Major and E Minor this year, and all those who contributed to bringing this fantastic show to the stage for our enjoyment. This has certainly been an exciting fi rst year for me as Head of School. I have had many wonderful experiences and I’m so proud of the amazing accomplishments of our students. Whether it was in competitions, extracurricular activities or community learning, in athletics, arts, math or sciences, all of our students represented St. George’s admirably. I encourage you to visit our website to learn more about their impressive achievements at www.stgeorges.qc.ca.

Finally, thank you to all of our parents, alumni and friends of St. George’s who have partnered with us to make this a fantastic year; your support is truly appreciated. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

Message from the Head of School

Sharon KleinHead of School

Congratulations to G Major for your incredible

success at Nationals!

Zak , we are so very proud of you!

Your dedication and hard work have been both

commendable and inspiring!

You are our Shining Star!

Thank you Candace Grynol and Aaron Stamboulieh

for all of your guidance and leadership over the past 4 years!

Danny, Wendie and Samantha Bensoussan

Performing Arts has historically been an important element of the St. George’s experience. Whether it be on stage or behind the scenes, most every St. George’s student fondly remembers not only their own curricular drama classes, but the many memorable musical and stage productions. Our acting and production talent rivals almost any amateur theatre troupe in Montreal.

The Performing Arts program at St. George’s School of Montreal is named in memory of St. George’s grad, Jaclyn Linetsky ’03, who died tragically in a car accident at the tender age of 17.

Jaclyn was 10 when she landed her fi rst major gig, a milk commercial, and she never looked back. As the voice of Caillou, Jaclyn entertained hundreds of thousands of children the world over. Amongst her many accomplishments, she was also the female lead in the television show 15/Love, which aired in over 72 countries.

Jaclyn had always credited her stage work at St. George’s for giving her career a boost.

Her name on our Performing Arts program ensures that Jaclyn will always be remembered and that she will continue to be an inspiration for generations of St. George’s students to come.
