After 15 years of successful Kindergarten to Year 10 schooling, the Board of Nepean Christian School at Mulgoa has approved progression into the senior years of secondary schooling.

Year 11 will commence at the beginning of 2014 and will provide an innovative and focused approach where students study and complete some subjects in one year, rather than the normal two years. From the EditorWelcome to this special Easter Edition of

the Glenmore Gazette. I know my two boys are very excited to see the stores fill with the sugary supplies that go hand in hand with Easter. Come to think of it, I am certain they commenced filling the shelves with Easter Eggs as soon as Christmas was over. Of course there is much more behind Easter than Easter Eggs and Easter Bunnies; see our local parish updates to read about the real meaning behind this special time of the year.

Last month I spent some time at the town centre meeting a huge following of our local readers. It was lovely to speak to so many people and receive your ideas, suggestions and feedback. I know a common cause for query was centred around an update on the Glenmore Park Shopping Centre development; I have requested an update from the relevant parties and hope to have an article to publish in the April edition.

This edition, as always, includes a huge dose of information from our regular contributors in Parents Corner, Paws A While, Counselling Corner and Keeping Fit with Rj. We’ve also included some very interesting articles about the state of affairs and newest updates with regard to our local roads and transport; see pages 7 and 11 for more information.

It is a MUST for any Easter ‘SpEGGtacular’ to include some EGGCELLENT recipe ideas, which I have included for you in What’s Cooking on page 16, I am sure you’ll agree they are too tempting not to give at least one a try! There’s also something for everyone in our Easter Fun on page 9.

Blessings for a special Easter celebration, time with loved ones, friends and family as ‘Life is too short to be anything but happy!’

William’s Walk Little Cranebrook boy, William

Harris was born 12 November, 2004. He was a son to David and Lauren and brother to Taylor, Jhai and Makaylah. He was adored by everyone that had the pleasure to meet him. He was bold, charming and at times highly opinionated.

William suffered from the chronic pain of arthritis and was diagnosed on 9 May, 2006, with systemic onset JIA. He never crawled or walked properly and suffered from spiking fevers and a rash. His day-to-day life involved painful, swollen and stiff joints. Nobody will ever truly understand the pain of watching their five year old son crawl up the hallway, because he couldn’t walk. He knew he was different and at times he would ask why he got arthritis. There are some questions that are just too hard to answer.

Sadly our beautiful little boy left this earth bound for Heaven on 17 April, 2011. William was six years old. Our lives will never be the same again and we live with a constant reminder that kids get arthritis too and they can indeed die.

I knew that William was far too loud in life to ever leave quietly, and I don’t want the world to forget him and the countless other children who suffer every day.

We created William’s Wish for two reasons. Firstly, because William was granted a wish from the Starlight Foundation, but passed away just before his wish was fulfilled and secondly, to remember our son and who he was, a young boy who stood up for what he believed and someone who cared deeply about others and would want to give his friends a wish they deeply deserve.

Join us for William’s Walk this April to help kids living with arthritis. There are 2 great locations in Bondi and Penrith with courses to

suit people of all ages and fitness levels. It promises to be a great day out with family and friends, loads of entertainment, music, face painting and fun for everyone. There will also be stalls with food or you can even bring a picnic.

Over 4,000 Australian children live with some form of juvenile arthritis, they need our support. Help us keep William’s fighting spirit alive by joining the walk and help us raise $100,000 for kids with arthritis. Isn’t it good that the government gives us four days off to reflect on the most important events of history? Good Friday is the day we remember Jesus’ death. Easter Sunday, we celebrate the fact that this very same Jesus rose from the dead.

The incredible thing is that Jesus’ death was no accident. Jesus came into our world to die & pay for the consequences each of us deserves

for not treating God as God. Jesus’ death does something quite extraordinary – it reconciles us with God. When Jesus dies, his death opens the door for any person to have friendship with God; a fresh start in life when they put their trust in Him.

Yet it doesn’t stop there. On Easter Sunday as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, we celebrate the fact that Jesus smashed death! It is because of Jesus’ resurrection that you can have a certain hope of life beyond death – a life that the Bible says, “will never perish or spoil or fade”, like so many things in our world today.

At Glenmore Park Anglican Church, we not only want to celebrate these magnificent truths but also share them with you! That is why we would love you to join us over Easter - “The Long Weekend that Changes Everything!” In addition, in the lead up to Easter we will be having some special Sunday Services on 17th & 24th March and a whole lot of other special events during that week for everyone in Glenmore Park & the surrounding area - all to help you discover Jesus - that there is in fact ‘More to Life’ and that real life with meaning, purpose, peace, joy & hope are found through Jesus.

Service Times: Sundays @ 8.30 and 10.15am, 5 and 7pm. Plus activities for adults and young people right throughout the week

Easter Facts• The date of Easter Sunday changes every year because it’s celebrated on the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. The Paschal Full Moon is part of the Ecclesiastical Calendar and varies considerably, so Easter Sunday can be any time from March 22nd to April 25th. • The first symbol of Easter was a chicken breaking out of its shell (Christ’s resurrection).• The tradition of giving eggs at Easter time has been traced back to Persians, Egyptians, Gauls, Greeks and Romans, to whom the egg was a symbol of life.• It has been suggested that the many customs associated with Easter eggs developed in Europe because of the Crusaders. They are believed to have brought the idea back with them from the East. Thus, we see that the egg has had special meaning and has been revered by humankind for thousands of years as a symbol of birth, life and hope.• The most famous decorated Easter eggs were those made by the well-known goldsmith, Peter Carl Faberge. In 1883 the Russian Czar, Alexander, commissioned Faberge to make a special Easter gift for his wife, the Empress Marie. The first Faberge egg was an egg within an egg. It had an outside shell of platinum and enameled white which opened to reveal a smaller gold egg. The smaller egg, in turn, opened to display a golden chicken and a jeweled replica of the Imperial crown. This special Faberge egg so delighted the Czarina that the Czar promptly ordered the Faberge firm to design further eggs to be delivered every Easter. In later years Nicholas II, Alexander’s son, continued the custom. Fifty-seven eggs were made in all.

Glenmore Park Residents Group NEWSIt was nice to have a couple of new residents attend

our group this month with some new ideas and input. The group will follow up this month to find out what is happening with the redevelopment of the shopping centre. Despite a committment from Raine & Horne as well as the centre management to contact us with an update on the plans in January, we are still waiting.

It is also disappointing that none of the five South Ward councillors have made a firm committment to attend a meeting to outline their plans for the residents of Glenmore Park.

Perhaps it is time for the residents of Glenmore Park to write or email Penrith Council to ask the councillors whom we elected what they are doing for us. The list of items presented to council via email last November for repair/maintenance were acknowledged but to date nothing has been done.

Resurrected Turtle!Zoe’s pet turtle had died, and she was

crying as if her heart would break. Her mother had been dealing with the situation all day and declared that it was now Dad’s turn to try and make things better. Desperate to quiet his little girl’s tears, he said, “I tell you what, we’ll have a funeral for the turtle.” Being three

years old, she didn’t know what a funeral was. Scrambling to come up with an explanation –as well as something that would get her mind off the turtle’s demise, he said “A funeral is like a birthday party. We’ll have ice cream and cake and lemonade and balloons, and all the children in the neighborhood will come over to our house to play.”

Well, the prospect of a turtle funeral did the trick. Instantly, Zoe was her happy, smiling self. So, with visions of cake and ice cream in their heads the two beamed down on the deceased turtle lying at their feet. As they did, the turtle began to move. And a few seconds later, he was crawling away as lively as –well, as lively as a LIVE turtle!

After considering her options, Zoe looked up at her father with her big beautiful eyes and –with all the innocence of her tender years –she said quietly, “Daddy, LET’S KILL IT.” (Author unknown)

The resurrection of the dead may seem too good to be true but this is the testimony written by many of the New Testament authors. In the first letter to the Corinthian church the apostle Paul reminds his readers of the witness testimonies on which their belief structure were founded, the death and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:1-7 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you- unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that

CHRIST CHURCH @ THE COLLEGERevMarkBonnici•ChristChurch@TheCollege•www.christchurchatthecollege.com.au

Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

The story of Jesus rising from the dead is not a fantasy but an event in history which is backed by the words of men and women who saw him die an awful death. Then saw him alive three days later.

Bicentenary Bridges Great DivideIt’s almost 200 years since the first Blue Mountains crossing, when Australians will

retrace this deciding moment for European settlement and our nation. To recognise the starting point of Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth’s epic journey at

Blaxland’s farm, St Marys, Penrith City Council will launch a three-week series of major commemorations in May 2013. The celebrations cover the start of the trek up the mountains in May 1813 to the explorers’ triumphant return some three weeks later.

Penrith City Council has worked with a community committee to develop these not-to-be-missed activities: – Breakfast Launch and Re-enactment trek - 11 May– Family Camp Out on the Nepean River - 11 May– Historical Festival at Mamre Homestead - 19 May– “Back to Emu Plains” weekend - 25 and 26 May

To add to the excitement, Penrith Library will hold a “Makings of a City History Conference Crossing the Great Divide” on 9 March and Penrith Civic Centre will host an exhibition through April-May.

Penrith Mayor Mark Davies said an extra treat would be appearances by renowned Aussie actor Jack Thompson as part of Council’s Bicentenary program. “We are proud to have Australian icon, Jack Thompson as patron of Penrith City Council’s Blue Mountains crossing commemorations. Keep an eye out as he’ll be attending several events,” Councillor Davies said.

For more details on individual events please call Council on 4732 7645. For details on Penrith Library’s history conference call 4732 7891.

Huge Blow Out In Travel Times For M4, M5 And M7New figures have shown travel times have blown out for motorists under the O’Farrell

Government – with workers from western and south western Sydney hit the hardest. On the M4, the average speed has dropped 12km/h to just 36km/h.

Average speeds for drivers have plummeted in the three months to December 2012. See table below...

“These figures confirm what Sydney motorists already know, the daily drive to and from work is getting slower and slower under the O’Farrell Government,” Opposition Leader John Robertson said today.

“The average motorist driving along the M4 during the morning peak is now travelling 12 km/h slower on average than they were only six months ago.

“The average speed on the M4 is now more suited to a school zone, not a major freeway. The O’Farrell Government is forcing drivers to pay higher and extra tolls, but giving them slower travel times and more delays.”

Shadow Roads Minister, Ryan Park said: “Before the election, Barry O’Farrell boasted that he would reduce congestion on our roads. Two years in and things have simply gotten worse. Motorists travelling on Cleveland Street are crawling along at 14 km/h, while drivers on the M5 are paying a toll to travel at speeds that have fallen by nine km/h in only a few months.

“The Premier promised to reduce congestion, but at the rate he is going it will be decades before any major road infrastructure is built to give Sydney drivers a break.”

"The average motorist driving along the M4 during the morning peak is now travelling 12 km/h slower on average than they were only six months ago. "The average speed on the M4 is now more suited to a school zone, not a major freeway. "The O'Farrell Government is forcing drivers to pay higher and extra tolls, but giving them slower travel times and more delays." Shadow Roads Minister, Ryan Park said: "Before the election, Barry O'Farrell boasted that he would reduce congestion on our roads. Two years in and things have simply gotten worse." "Motorists travelling on Cleveland Street are crawling along at 14 km/h, while drivers on the M5 are paying a toll to travel at speeds that have fallen by nine km/h in only a few months. "The Premier promised to reduce congestion, but at the rate he is going it will be decades before any major road infrastructure is built to give Sydney drivers a break." PADRE PIO PARISH UPDATEFrRobertRiedling•34-38WilliamHowellDr,GlenmorePark•Phone:47379735

Having entered March and the season of autumn, we are approaching the halfway point in the season of Lent, a time for Christians to focus more intensively on their relationship with God and, by extension, their relationships with other people.

Here in the southern hemisphere, Lent and Easter are turned on their heads when seen in contrast to the nature of the seasons experienced by our northern hemisphere cousins. For those in Europe and North America particularly, there is at this time of year a distinct movement from darkness to light as the days grow longer and slowly brighter. In nature there is a noticeable shift from the death of winter as revealed by leafless trees and an acute absence of flowers and colour to the budding of new leaves, flowers and colour as spring comes into being. This dynamic of darkness to light and death to life mirrors the Church’s season as we spend our time in Lent focusing on our own darkness and death characterised by our sin and then move into the brightness and new life of the Resurrection at Easter when we commemorate and give thanks for the fact that Jesus triumphed over death and gave us too the promise of eternal life.

In Australia and other nations in the southern hemisphere however, nature is moving in the opposite direction as the heat and vitality of summer gives way to the cooler climate of autumn and the inevitable signs of imminent death made manifest by the foliage of the deciduous trees turning from green to a shade of yellow, red or orange. The riot of colour that characterises autumn in some parts of our city is symbolic of death but transpires at a time when Christians are celebrating new life. The paradox is emblematic

of the Eurocentric nature of much of our culture, including our religious practices.

But in the end, what matters most is the truth which underpins these practices, even if the symbols are discordant. The truth of the loving and merciful nature of God and of our sinful nature as created beings, redeemed through the loving, sacrificial action of Jesus. We must be careful however, not to be too despondent with regard to our inability or, at times, our unwillingness, to model ourselves on Christ. We are a redeemed people and just as there is a conflict with regard to the natural seasons in our nation and the Church’s seasons of Lent and Easter, so there is a conflict in relation to our fallen human nature and the opportunity to embrace redemption and make Christ manifest. We are capable of great sin but we are equally capable of noble and principled acts which reflect Christ’s nature to others. For this we rejoice.

You might care to give thanks to God for the gift of Christ and eternal life this Easter. Feel free to come to one or all of the Holy Week Masses and services at Padre Pio in Glenmore Park. Real Time Train Apps for SydneyMulgoa MP, Tanya Davies has welcomed the announcement

that Sydney train commuters will soon have access to real-time information on mobile phones that shows when the next train is coming. The impending release of transport apps showing up-to-the-minute information about where trains are on the network follows the release late last year of apps showing real-time bus information and the release of Transport for NSW 131500 app which provides up-to-date trip planning details and maps for using train, bus and ferry services across greater metropolitan Sydney.

“Before the introduction of these apps, Sydney public transport apps had been limited to providing published timetables. But – as commuters know only too well – trains and buses often arrive well outside their timetabled sequence,” Mrs Davies said.

Transport for NSW will run an “app hot house” on the weekend of February 16 and 17 for developers to work on apps featuring real-time train information. At first, the Department will release information only for the Sydney suburban stations, with the exception of the station at Waterfall and the Carlingford Line. It intends to extend the coverage later.

“We are keen to improve the customer experience on the rail network and we know that a real time train app will give customers the information they need to make decisions about their journey, all in the palm of their hand,” the Transport Minister, Gladys Berejiklian, said. “Customers who have long relied on train timetables will soon be able to know what is happening on the system whether they are at home, work or standing on the platform.” The technology will use GPS markers on stations that will receive information from trains, and then pass it on to the apps. r Mulgoa MP Tania Davies shows off the new Train app

Penrith Physie at the Easter Show 2013 is starting off in a big way for Penrith Physical Culture Club. This year we have 8 girls and women participating in

a Dance Spectacular at the Sydney Royal Easter Show with 250 other BJP physie girls in what promises to be a fantastic performance.

The girls will dance on the opening day of the Easter Show, in the main arena at 6pm. Penrith Club has had girls in this show for the last 5 years and it is a great experience for each of them. Performing on such a big ‘stage’ is very demanding but confidence building as well. There are only 2 rehearsals of all dancers which is fairly intense but well worth the hard work. In 2012 the theme was based around the music from Mary Poppins. The girls can’t wait to see the dance steps for this year.

Physie is a great sport to be a part of. The Penrith Club has been holding it’s classes in Glenmore Park for almost 20 years. It incorporates all types of dance and it caters for all abilities as well. It is fun at classes and very inexpensive to be a part of. If you are interested in finding out more about our Penrith Club please call Karen on 0418975765 or visit our website... penrithphysie.com.au

Did you know?• The largest Easter egg ever made was around 9,000 pounds. It needed a steel frame for internal support.• 76 percent of people eat the ears on chocolate bunnies first.• 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies are made for Easter each year.

Weight Training – Proper Technique

You don’t have to be a bodybuilder to gain the physical benefits of weight training. When done correctly, weight training can assist with fat loss, increased

muscle strength and tone and improved bone density. However, if done incorrectly, weight training can be dangerous and may lead to injuries.

There are thousands of online workouts available and many different apps for your phone but how do you know which program is right for you? It’s important to remember, what works for someone else, may not necessarily work for you.

My best advice is, before starting any resistance training program, see a fitness professional to have an assessment done and get a program written specifically to suit your needs. Even more importantly, make sure you are shown how to do all of the exercises correctly.

Remember, the more you focus on proper weight training technique, the more you’ll achieve in your workouts! Rj Tierney (owner) – Pure Fitness Penrith Ph: 4732 [email protected] www.purefitness.net.au

Guinness World Record Attempt!Dr Katrina Warren and Kelly Gill are holding their second Border

Collie Fun Day at Castle Hill Showground, Dog Arena (Doran Drive, Castle Hill). It will be a family friendly event, inviting Border Collie owners to bring their dog’s for a social afternoon of Border Collie activities. They also expect a lot of spectators as people are welcome without a dog.

Dr Katrina and Kelly Gill are delighted to welcome Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital to our Border Collie Fun Day. Dr Camille Brandt will be our official vet on the day and will also be offering free veterinary checks and answering your Border Collie health questions.

Their inaugural event was held last year and was a huge success. The highlight of the day was the group photo of as many dogs as possible without owners in the shot and this photo went viral.

This year, they have official approval to attempt a Guinness World Record for the ‘most number of dogs ever recorded in a professional photo shoot.’

They need more than 101 Border Collies to gain the World Record and it will involve the dogs being photographed by Professional photographer, Fiona Erskine.

From the response that they have had, they anticipate around

200 Border Collies registering for the World Record attempt, and several hundred spectators. They will be reaching out to media for coverage of the World Record Attempt on the day.

They have confirmed the Border Collie Club NSW, Agility club, Flyball club and a Wonderdog Tricks demo. They are organising stalls, interactive activities , a raffle and lots of giveaways. Anger and AnxietyAnger and anxiety are two emotions that are likely to cause

difficulty for those who allow them to get out of control. When an emotion gains control over us we tend to do one of two things- either ignore it or react to it in a knee jerk way and do something we later regret. What’s the alternative? We sit with the feeling; we experience it, acknowledge it and then figure out what to do about it, if anything. In this way we respond rather than react to it- that is we put a pause in between feeling and action. We can choose to do nothing while feeling it at the same time. But never ignore it!

Emotional literacy is the ability individuals have to be self aware and to name the emotions they are feeling. The person with good emotional literacy acknowledges the feeling and then goes about trying to understand and be informed by that feeling. They attempt to use their feelings as an ally that can give them important information about how they are being impacted on by others or by the circumstances of life.

To improve our emotional literacy we can use the name, claim, tame and aim approach.Name it –name the emotion we are feeling (anger, sadness etc)Claim it – that is, to honour the emotion by saying; yes I feel ….sad, angry etc. Tame it – a by-product of claiming an emotion is the taming of it. We accept the feeling without being consumed by it. When we do this the emotion loses its power over us. We are in control of it.Aiming it – the last part of the process allows us to ‘file it’. That is we have taken the time to be informed by the emotion and to understand its origins in us. We can then choose a response to it. And this response can range from acting on it to deleting it letting it go. * Linda Cassell - Assoc MAPS, Master of Counselling, Psychology Honours (BASS) - is a psychologist and counsellor in private practice in Luddenham.

Quilters That CareThe 20 ladies who make

up the Caring Hearts Community Quilters have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the colourful quilts they have been working on these past twelve months.

These quilts will be donated to Nepean, Hawkesbury, Springwood and Blue Mountains palliative care and neo-natal wards, Barnardos, Blue Mountains Cancer Support, Penrith Women’s Refuge and Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital. These quilts are made with love and the hope that they’ll bring comfort and support to those in their time of need.

The group makes, on average, 120 quilts each year and the reality is that the quilts are made not only with love, but also with expensive fabric and wadding. While the group is self-funded, it still needs community support. To raise money and awareness, the Quilters are holding their annual “Airing of the Quilts” at the Arms of Australia Inn Museum, Great Western Highway, Emu Plains, on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April, 10am – 4pm.

In addition to the quilts on display there will be live music, sausage sizzle, Devonshire teas, Trading table, book stall, beautiful hand-made gifts suitable for mother’s Day, and a raffle, with proceeds going to Breast Cancer.

In the event of inclement weather, the Airing cannot be held. For further information, phone 0438 670 012.

PARENT’S CORNER

Ever have something happen that upset you, and you just wanted someone to listen to you? You didn’t want advice or criticism. You wanted someone to acknowledge your feelings, to empathise, and to hear you. You wanted someone to tell you how much it sucks, and how disappointed you must be.

And, so it is with children.Acknowledging your child’s feelings won’t make them soft or

sooks or cry babies. It will make them feel understood. They will feel seen and heard, valued and loved. And they will get over their hurt quicker with less resentment because meeting the need extinguishes the need. It will help them bounce back from disappointment, because life can be full of hurt and disappointment and it’s nice to be able to have someone to talk to about it. A child that experiences empathy will become empathic. So, how do you do it?1. Notice the emotion Notice how you think your child is feeling. It’s ok if you guess incorrectly, your child will usually tell you what he or she is feeling if you approach it this way.2. Clarify with a question A question will help your child figure out how he or she feels.3. Reflect the emotion Reflect the emotion your child is telling you or state what you believe your child is feeling.4. Locate the emotion in the body Emotions can be felt in the body and the head. Part of emotional intelligence is recognising when you are starting to feel a strong emotion by noticing what your body is doing and what your mind is thinking.

Article by: Narelle Smith (Family Worker) Nepean Community & Neighbourhood Services. Ph: 0409 986 121 Email: [email protected] Blog: http://oranaplaygroup.wordpress.com

5. Empathise Talk about how you would feel in the same situation.6. Explore

You might like to follow up with a question or comment to get more details about the situation or explore more emotions.Notice how in this process, there is not a barrage of questions, advice, or moral reasoning. The parent does not dismiss or deny how the child is feeling or try to distract him from his feelings. The parent does not tell him to “get over it” or “get on with it” or “don’t worry, it could be worse”. The parent does not jump into solving the problem or talking about what happened to her once upon a time. The parent does not take the other person’s side.

It’s a process of delving down into the child’s feelings and emotions with him and coming out the other side together. If you do this often enough, your child will learn to accept and manage her own strong emotions, learn how to solve problems, and learn to know when she is coping well or when she needs to get help. This is emotional intelligence. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

But this process can be difficult for parents. If you are not comfortable with some of these strong feelings, you will try to push your child through it as quickly as possible to resolve your own discomfort. Most parents say they can deal with extremes of most emotions, but anger pushes their buttons. The important thing is acknowledging that you are uncomfortable with some emotions and working your way through it too. If you think back to your childhood, your own parents may not have been comfortable with the same emotions you have difficulty with now. That’s why it’s called a process, every day we do a little bit better.

Penrith Relay for Life The Penrith Relay for Life is an annual event held over 24 hours to symbolise that cancer sufferers are living with cancer for 24 hours a day. Throughout the 24 hours of the event, most teams try to have at least one member walking at all times to briefly become part of a sufferer’s battle.

Over the last 12 years the Penrith Relay has raised over $1.9 million via the generosity of the Penrith and wider Penrith communities. The Cancer Council of NSW using these funds for cancer research, support, awareness and education.

The event brings together those suffering cancer, their careers, family, friends, colleagues and supporters in an event which allows them to fight back against this dreaded disease, by raising funds for research and services in the wider and local communities. We celebrate with those that have won their battle and we remember those that we have lost.

During Relay, Team members take turns walking around an Oval, camping out and enjoying entertainment, ceremonies, food and games in a carnival like atmosphere. Teams create awareness in the community for this worthy cause by fund raising. Each team’s fundraising methods are limited only by their imagination. Some different & interesting ways of fundraising are; raffles, guessing competitions, selling crafts, garage sales, trivia nights, corporate sponsorship, and talent quests even sponsored walkers.

The Penrith Relay for Life will be held from 10am Saturday 4th May to 10am Sunday 5th May at Howell Oval Penrith (Cricket grounds opposite Panthers).

If you would like to be a part of this amazing and unique event by registering a team, becoming a sponsor or supporter, joining the organising committee or just want more information, please call Nathan Dart from Cancer Council NSW on (02) 9354 2004.

The website for the Penrith Relay for Life 2013 is now available for you to register your team or to find further information about the event. Let’s bring together the whole community for this wonderful cause, let’s find a CURE for Cancer and save those we love.
