Proposed Standard Labeling

of Huawei DWDM and OSN

System

Page 2: Globe Telecoms Lebeling Format DWDM and OSN (Starting March 1, 2010)

I. Objectives

• To give all groups physically accessing the equipment a small guide on what site the cards are facing, specially amplifiers, lambda cards, mux/demux, and SDH drop cards

• To allow all groups to spend minimal amount of time, when deployed to sites for activities, confirming and verifying exactly which cards they want to access (especially Operations wherein strict ETR is enforced when circuits experience outage)

• To avoid having to heavily depend on the fiber connection diagram and bayface given by Huawei, since there are times wherein these are changed during implementation stages

• To create a single unified standard labeling convention for every Huawei transmission equipment deployed at sites

II. Current Labeling Standard

The basic Huawei fiber labeling standard:

To: where the other end of the fiber is connectedFrom: where the current end of the fiber is connected

Format: rack position / card name / port name

Note: Card position = D01 is read is down subrack, meaning the subrack is positioned at the bottom part of the rack;M02 is read as middle subrack, meaning the subrack is positioned at the middle part of the subrack;This kind of code is applicable only to DWDM units

The basic Huawei subcon

NE ID subrack labeling :

NEID = NEXXX / YYY

Note: XXX = middle

subrack; YYY = down

subrack

The basic Huawei subcon

(WSA) fiber labeling

scheme:

NEID-Slot # of card-Port

number-Name of Port

Note: No registered from /

to at the label itself, you’ll

have to check both sides of

the label on which card the

fiber is patched.

Page 6: Globe Telecoms Lebeling Format DWDM and OSN (Starting March 1, 2010)

The basic Huawei subcon

rack labeling scheme:

Rack number = AOxx

xx = rack number

Note: applied for both SDH

and DWDM equipment.

Rack number is based on

the current number of

DWDM/SDH rack are

currently installed at the

site, regardless of project.

Drop @ OSN NE ID slot X;

ex: λ 4 fac Valero

Drop at NE111 slot 8

D. Card labeling

λ xx – DWDM NE ID

ex: λ 1 – NE111

E. Rack Labeling

The standard Globe rack

labeling scheme:

Format: Project Name

Subrack NE ID’s

Note: Subrack ID’s =

Subrack position – NE ID;

GW or NGW = gateway or

non-gateway

ex: NLTN NW
