Nearby Barcelona is a medieval city and afantastic party town with a myriad ofrestaurants and bars. It’s perfect for a day’stouring, even an add-on after your golf holiday.

Marbella is a luxurious resort town but it isbest appreciated by exploring back streets in theold part of town…Such as “La Plaza de losNaranjos” with its stately buildings, artisans, artgalleries, bars and bistros. The narrow streets arehome to both houses and shops and there arenumerous excellent restaurants to choose from– including a couple where the Serrano ham isgently cured by tobacco smoke and the tapasare both tasty and filling.

The Marbella coastline stretches along some 15miles of Mediterranean beaches and there areplenty of spots to enjoy sardines on a spit andpaella. Puerto Banus provides a livelier sidewhere the yachts, exotic cars and bars mighthelp you to forget the three-putt on the 18th.

Jerez is a beautiful city which typifies all that ischaracteristic of Andalucia. It is rich in history,with many churches, basilicas, museums andpalaces. Nowadays it is perhaps better knownfor its famous sherry wines, flamenco and TheRoyal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art.

The nearby town of Arcos de la Frontera isperched atop a rocky limestone ridge with prettywhitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streetsand lovely tapas bars. El Puerto de SantaMaria is a picturesque and lively Spanish townon the Costa de la Luz. With miles of goldensands, markets and a bustling town centre, it’sthe ideal place to discover the Spanish way.

Although very flat, the length makes this quitea challenge and posting a good score is a hardtask. A buggy keeps the legs fresh for a tour ofthe lovely town afterwards to try out some ofthe superb fish restaurants. Nine miles west of Jerez.

Having said that, the course is more testingthan you first think as there are plenty ofhazards to catch sloppy shots. The 18th is agreat closing Par 5, tempting you to cut asmuch off as possible with your drive overwater, you’re then faced with a tough secondshot over another pond. Easy walking. 15miles south of Jerez.

With wide fairways and water troubling onlythe more wayward hitters, this is a goodchoice for the higher handicapper. Perfect for aday out followed by lunch. Environmentallyprotected, only 60 players a day in 20 minuteintervals can play...no slow rounds! Easywalking. 46 miles south of Jerez.
