A.C.T.S. PARISH RETREATS

ACTS is a spiritual renewal experience and opportunity being launched in our parish this May, which we plan to repeat and continue for years, so that the Catholic faith, spirituality and community of our parishioners is renewed. What is ACTS? It's a retreat that will invigorate your relationship with God and others. It's a retreat for anybody hoping to find a closer and stronger relationship with God and others. It's a retreat which help connect the dots of one's faith in God with today's joys and concerns. It's a path that one takes with Christ which renews peace within one's heart. It's a three day retreat, conducted by ACTS Missionaries of San Antonio, Texas, which will be held for parishioners of Good Shepherd, and with parishioners of our three neighboring Catholic parishes - St. Leo in Versailles, - St. John in Georgetown - and St. Lawrence in Lawrenceburg. The Spring Men's Retreat date is May 3 - 6, 2018 and the Spring Retreat for Women is scheduled for May 17-20, 2018. This retreat will be held at the Flaget Catholic Center in Louisville, KY. There is a cost, but no person should use this, or any other reason, as an excuse not to attend as confidential financial assistance can be offered. Transportation, food, fun and private rooms are all included. Are you needing a spiritual renewal that will enhance and rebuild your faith and love of God, others and self? Is the Holy Spirit inviting you find a place where your faith is regenerated? Contact Fr. Charles ASAP at [email protected] or 502-227-4511 ext. 2005. We have room for up to 10 men and up to 10 women from Good Shepherd to attend these two separate Spring retreats. Our goal is to have a combined total from our four parishes of 20 to 40 men attending the Men's Retreat, and of 20 to 40 women attending the Women's Spring Retreat. Mark your calendars now and contact Fr. Charles today!

PRAYER TO THE DIVINE MERCY

O Lord, behold here before You a soul who exists in this world in order to allow You to exercise Your admirable mercy and manifest it before heaven and earth. Others may glorify You through their faithfulness and perseverance, thus making evident the power of Your grace. How sweet and generous You are to those who are faithful to You! Nevertheless, I will glorify You by acquainting others of Your goodness to sinners and by reminding them that Your mercy is above all malice, that nothing can exhaust it, and that no relapse, no matter how shameful or criminal, should allow the sinner to despair of forgiveness. I have offended You grievously, O Beloved Redeemer, but it would be still worse if I were to offend You by thinking that You were lacking in goodness to forgive me. I would rather He deprive me of everything else than the trust I have in Your Mercy. Should I fall a hundred times or should my crimes be a hundred times worse than they actually are, I would continue to trust in Your mercy. Amen.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

EMBRACE STEWARDSHIP: Give Generously because God Gives Generously....Today's first reading (Acts 4:32-35) is a beautiful example of stewardship from the early Christians. They recognized that all belongs to God and that people are more important than things. Because of this, sharing was easier. And the sharing was key to the unity of that early faith community. Consider prayerfully re-reading the scripture and reflect on how we can model ourselves after their example. SAVE THE DATE: May 19, 2018 - The 5th Annual Catholic Men's Conference at the Cathedral of Christ the King. Registration starts at 8AM/Conference at 9AM. We will finish our day by 4:00 PM. The conference theme for 2018 is "A Father's Love." More information will follow. CHARISMATIC MASS: An Easter Season Diocesan Charismatic Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Ashland, KY beginning at 10:30 a.m. Our Praise and Worship Music Team will guide us in music inviting the Holy Spirit to visit the faithful during liturgy with His special mercy, love, healing and power. Father Mike Flanagan will preside. A potluck lunch and fellowship will follow the Mass. All are welcome!
