Gods Plan for Us

Whydidweneedtocometotheearth?

When we lived as spirit children with our heavenly parents, our

Heavenly Father told us about His plan or us to become more likeHim We shouted or joy when we heard His plan (see Job 38:7)

We were eager or new experiences In order or these things tohappen, we needed to leave our Fathers presence and receivemortal bodies We needed another place to live where we couldprepare to become like Him Our new home was called earth

Whydoyouthinkweshoutedforjoywhenwelearnedofthe

planofsalvation?

Jesus Created the Earth

Jesus Christ created this world and everything in it He also createdmany other worlds He did so through the power o the priesthood,under the direction o our Heavenly Father God the Father said,Worlds without number have I created; and by the Son I created

them, which is mine Only Begotten (Moses 1:33) We have othertestimonies o this truth Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon saw JesusChrist in a vision They testied that by him, and through him, ando him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereoare begotten sons and daughters unto God (D&C 76:24)

The earth and everything on it were created spiritually beore theywere created physically (see Moses 3:5) In planning to create thephysical earth, Christ said to those who were with Him, We will

go down, or there is space there, and we will make an earthwhereon these [the spirit children o our Father in Heaven] maydwell (Abraham 3:24)

Under the direction o the Father, Christ ormed and organized theearth He divided light rom darkness to make day and night Heormed the sun, moon, and stars He divided the waters rom thedry land to make seas, rivers, and lakes He made the earth beautiul

and productive He made grass, trees, fowers, and other plants o allkinds These plants contained seeds rom which new plants couldgrow Then He created the animalssh, cattle, insects, and birds oall kinds These animals had the ability to reproduce their own kind

Now the earth was ready or the greatest creation o allmankindOur spirits would be given bodies o fesh and blood so they couldlive on earth And I, God, said unto mine Only Begotten, which

was with me rom the beginning: Let us make man in our image,ater our likeness; and it was so (Moses 2:26) And so the rst man,Adam, and the rst woman, Eve, were ormed and given bodiesthat resembled those o our heavenly parents In the image o Godcreated he him; male and emale created he them (Genesis 1:27)

When the Lord nished His creations, He was pleased and knewthat His work was good, and He rested or a time

Gods Creations Show His Love

HowdoGodscreationsshowthatHelovesus?

We are now living in this beautiul world Think o the sun,which gives us warmth and light Think o the rain, which makesplants grow and makes the world eel clean and resh Think ohow good it is to hear a bird singing or a riend laughing Thinko how wonderul our bodies arehow we can work and play

and rest When we consider all o these creations, we begin tounderstand what wise, powerul, and loving beings Jesus Christ

and our Heavenly Father are They have shown great love or usby providing or all o our needs

Plant lie and animal lie were also made to give us joy TheLord said, Yea, all things which come o the earth, in the sea-son thereo, are made or the benet and the use o man, both toplease the eye and to gladden the heart; yea, or ood and or rai-ment, or taste and or smell, to strengthen the body and to enliventhe soul (D&C 59:1819) Even though Gods creations are many,He knows and loves them all He said, All things are numberedunto me, or they are mine and I know them (Moses 1:35)
