GOURMET SAFARI PROG RAMME – 29 JULY- 7 AUGUST 2016
Escape to the mountains and discover the magic
Join us for a fun filled week of beautiful Queensland winter days
and cosy nights by log fires in The Sunshine Coast Hinterland!
Where you will enjoy beautiful scenery, spectacular waterfalls
and rainforests, delicious food at special restaurants, award
winning wines, cooking classes, meeting producers and farmers in
the area, relax, unwind, make new friends – and have a
wonderful experience!
DAY 1 - FRIDAY 29 JULY:
Accommodation African Cottages & House of Laurels
Arrive at The African Cottages for a welcome drink. Casual dinner
& relaxing evening at THE LANE PALMWOODS – live music,
Mexican food. The start of a wonderful trip!
DAY 2 - SATURDAY 30 JULY:
We visit Crystal Waters Eco Village where we will go on a guided
tour, followed by delicious coffee and the famous sourdough
croissants at Les’ Sourdough Bakery. What a way to start a morning!
Followed by lunch at the award winning POMODORAS
Followed by:
MALENY Bites & Sites walking tour, where you will experience the
true soul and the diversity of Maleny. We visit:
Sugoi Ni Japanese Shop
IGA for a very interesting Meat & Deli demo
Rosettas Bookshop for great coffee & Books, Books, Books!
The Marketplace for interesting food stalls and a demo of Japanese
cuisine
Peace of Green – Artists Collective Gallery
Colin James for Ice Cream & the Fromagerie
The local Co op.
Dinner is an AFRICAN NIGHT at The House of Laurels
DAY 3 - SUNDAY 31 July:
Cooking Class at the wonderful Spicers Tamarind Cooking School
Followed by a fresh Picnic Lunch at Mary Cairncross Park,
overlooking the iconic Glasshouse Mountains.
Then on to the beautiful Maleny Botanical Gardens
Situated on one hundred and ten acres, they are surrounded by
magnificent rainforest with spectacular views of the Glasshouse
Mountains.
Over 6 kilometres of walking paths meander around thousands of
different plants, ranging from roses, azaleas and annuals to some of
the rarest cycads in the world. All of which are complemented by
numerous lakes and waterfalls – providing countless options for
photography.
Then on to Maleny Mountain Wines for a perfect finish to the day!

DAY 4 - MONDAY 1 AUG. – MONTVILLE/FLAXTON/
MAPLETON
We stay at the beautiful Montville Country Cabins
where our hosts Christine and Anton will welcome us.
One night we will have dinner by the firepit, which is going to be
VERY interesting!

Kondalilla Eco Resort
Set in amongst 20 acres of magificent Sunshine Coast Hinterland
rainforest allowing you time to experience nature, right next to
Kondalilla National Park,
DAY 5 – MONDAY 1 AUG: Start with Cooking class and
demonstration with the famous PETE WOLF of
CEDAR CREEK BUSH FOODS.
Peter Wolfe is an extremely passionate and talented chef who is well
known in culinary circles as a specialist in Australian Native
Cuisine. Peter’s professional career began in Tasmania working with
the salubrious delights of Tassie produce, to the finest of Sydney
restaurants, including the royal Sydney Golf Club and eventually
settling in Noosa to continue in a position as executive chef for
Weller Hotels.
Having come from a rural background with lots of fishing, hunting,
growing your own fruit and vegetables as well as searching the bush
and beach for culinary treats Peter decided he had to live on a rural
property just out of Noosa. – And that is how CEDAR CREEK BUSH
FOODS were born!
Amongst our many adventures these two days we visit Montville
Shops for a browse, Cocorico Handmade Chocolates, Monty’s of
Montville, Montville Coffee and many more!
A unique culinary experience every day!
Dinner at BELLA CUCINA – a fabulous little restaurant in
Montville that captures the essence of Italian cuisine.
DAY 6 - TUESDAY 2 AUG:
We meet producers and growers of this fabulous region, like The
Falls Farm, with lots of tastings, tips and goodies to take home.
One of the highlights is - Lunch at Spicers Clovelly where award
winning chef Cameron Matthews will delight your tastebuds with a
degustation lunch. Superb!
Then on to Flame Hill Winery – for more wine!
Followed by coffee at Secrets on the Lake
What a day!
Evening Free – or we can have a BBQ at our home for the night!
DAY 7 - WEDNESDAY 3 AUG – COOLUM/YANDINA
Accommodation – Tranquil Views and
Yandina Station – two beautiful and luxurious places!
We start the day at the famous Eumundi Markets where you can
browse, meet interesting people, taste delicious food and shop till
you drop! Lunch at own expense.
After lunch we visit a few VERY interesting Farms around the area.
Evening - Pizza Night at Tranquil Views
DAY 8 - THURSDAY 4 AUG:
The Ginger Factory for a very informative tour and cooking
demonstration.
Then on to Farms and Producers around the area
One of the fabulous farms we will visit will be
Eumundi Beef with Susan at the helm.
I love their slogan –
Beef with natural taste and flavour, raised in the lush Sunshine
Coast hinterland.
We produce quality eating beef from our pure breed Ausline (Angus)
and Murray Grey cross herd.
Our cattle are humanely raised and fed ONLY quality pasture grown
using biodynamic & biological farming methods.
We sell from the farm direct to the public.
Lunch at Val & John Henderson at their beautiful home on the
slopes of Mt. Coolum, overlooking the ocean.
Afternoon free to relax, maybe take in a massage or just sit down
with your favourite drop and a good book.
Dinner at The Imperial Hotel - Eumundi
Enjoy the ambience of a traditional pub!
A cornerstone of charming Eumundi, the heritage-listed Imperial
Hotel has been welcoming locals and tourists since its opening in
1911. The friendly reception continues today with good old fashioned
table service, delicious food, cold beer and wine and live
entertainment.
DAY 9 - FRIDAY 5 AUG – NOOSA HINTERLAND
Accommodation – Cooroy Country Cottages, a quiet secluded
holiday set amongst 97 private acres of rural Noosa native
forests and wildlife with changing mountain and valley views.
We start the final lap of our wonderful trip with a visit to sleepy
Boreen Point and Garnisha Spice Farm
From a little commercial kitchen in the garden Tim makes 18 different
spice pastes, pickles and chutneys, for Thai, Malay, North African, Middle
eastern and Indian cooking. Outside the kitchen is the treasure trove of
the garden. Mangoes shelter mounds of cardamom; there’s a windbreak of
bananas, rows of red and white galangal, brilliant orange turmeric, stands
of lemon grass, and a fenced off wallaby-proof area for the chillies.
Tamarind, pimento, allspice and Tahitian lime trees have plenty of space.
And everywhere it can find a spot, there is curry leaf lending its delicious
scent to the mix.
Lunch at the quaint French restaurant Maison de Provence in
Cooroy
Careful arrangement: Crispy skin barramundi with saffron, kipfler potato nousseline and clams sauce vierge.
Welcome to Fairyland in Cooroy, aka Maison de Provence, where French
charm meets country town warmth and much is made of the plentiful, local
bounty.
Afternoon – Camp Black – massages, yoga, relax and evening
dinner! And what an experience that is going to be!
A “Music under the Stars” night where you get a sensational dining experience, great
live entertainment, beautiful surroundings and great company.
Relax in the outdoor spa!

DAY 10 - SATURDAY 6 AUG:
A wonderful walk in Noosa National Park
And then one of the highlights of our tour –
A Noosa River Cruise and BBQ Seafood Lunch with award winning
Noosa River and Canal Cruises - Noosaville
Beautiful fresh food prepared on board while you enjoy a glass
of wine and the views of the Noosa River! What more could you
ask for!
Evening dinner at Cooroy Country Cottages – either Thai or
Indian! Surprise!
DAY 11 - SUNDAY 7 AUG: To end our wonderful trip, we have
Breakfast at the Noosa Farmers Markets
Where you can shop to your heart’s delight for fresh, fresh produce
to take home!
Enjoy the morning, maybe have a last coffee with newfound friends –
and remember us in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland!
We cruise along in a comfortable air conditioned bus with Lynn
from Mystic Mountain Tours.

Cancellations received 60-30 days prior to departure will incur loss of deposit.
Cancellations received between 30-15 days prior to departure will incur a 75%
cancellation fee.
Cancellations received between 15 days prior to departure will incur a 100%
cancellation fee plus any non-recoverable costs incurred.
