Ungaran Sari Garments often receives awards and has won a competition for health and safety programs in the workplace. This ongoing commitment to excellence invited an appreciation from both the provincial government and the national government. On May 22, 2014, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo and Regent of Semarang, Munijirin, visited the Congol unit to review how PT. Ungaran Sari Garments prioritizes the health and safety of employees at work. On June 17, unit Congol welcomed representatives of the Republic Indonesia Health Ministry, Occupational Health Physician Forum, and the Department of Health to disseminate their new programs. The programs include the following focus areas: preventing HIV / AIDS in the workplace, family planning and family welfare, and ergonomic gymnastics training. The government representatives applauded PT. Ungaran Sari Garments for always taking an active role in each of the government’s programs, for maintaining positive industrial relations with unions, and for having received many provincial and national level achievements. Central Java Governor and Ministry of Health Visit

PT. Ungaran Sari Garments prioritizes health and safety programs for employees. Because of that commitment, PT. Ungaran Sari Garments often receives awards and has won a competition for health and safety programs in the workplace. This ongoing commitment to excellence invited an appreciation from both the provincial government and the national government. On May 22, 2014, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo and Regent of Semarang, Munijirin, visited the Congol unit to review how PT. Ungaran Sari Garments prioritizes the health and safety of employees at work. Gold Award for Preventing HIV and AIDS In The Work Place

The socialization of contagious diseases, such as HIV and AIDS, is very important. Accordingly, the Regency of Semarang rewarded us as a company that has implemented the best HIV and AIDS Prevention and Control Program In The Work Place for 2013. This award was given to three companies out of dozens of other participants that have implemented programs to fight HIV and AIDS in the District of Semarang. For the national award, which consists of three types of awards (Silver, Gold, and Platinum), PT. Ungaran Sari Garments successfully received the Gold award. The Vice Chairman of K3 (Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja in the Indonesian language) or Health and Safety Work Program at PT. Ungaran Sari Garments, attended the handover ceremony. It was held on 26 May 2014 at Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta.

Recognized as Company with Best Family Planning at Provincial and National Levels

June 29, 2014 was National Family Day in Indonesia. The Semarang District Health Department held a Family Planning Program Competition amongst companies and PT. Ungaran Sari Garments was recognized at the level of Central Java Province. This was because PT. Ungaran Sari Garments was committed to conducting family planning consultations, medical check ups, and training for the employees.

Based on the results of the assessment panel, the Congol unit of PT. Ungaran Sari Garments won first place for having The Best Family Planning in Central Java and received third place at the National level. The provincial level award was presented on June 26, 2014 in Semarang Regency Square, and the National level award was on June 13, 2014 in Surabaya by the Head of The National Population and Family Planning Department (or Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional – BKKBN in the Indonesian language).

Tripartite Sports and Arts Week

In order to commemorate International Labor Day on May 1, 2014, the Central Java Provincial Government held The 8

th Tripartite Sports and Arts Week which involved

workers, employers, and the government. With the implementation of this program, workers are encouraged to fill Labor Day with a positive activity that builds solidarity.

PT. Ungaran Sari Garments sent two male and two female representatives to join in the singing competition and ten representatives for the race walking competition. At the district level selection of Semarang, the PT. Ungaran Sari Garments representatives successfully became the first place winner of the singing competitions for the male and female categories with over 90 other contenders who represented various companies. One female singer from PT. Ungaran Sari Garments entered into the top five winners of the province level with over 70 contenders representing 35 counties in Central Java.

The Tripartite Agency is a consultation and communication agency between representatives of workers, employers and the government to solve common problems in the field of labor.

New Uniform Distribution

In accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement between PT. Ungaran Sari Garments and its employees, Clothing Article 37 mandates that to establish order, discipline, and neatness of work the employees must wear uniforms. In May 2014, three new uniforms have been distributed to each of the 10,636 employees at PT. Ungaran Sari Garments.

World Blood Donor Day

June 14 is World Blood Donor Day. PT. Ungaran Sari Garments held blood donations on June 7, June 14, and June 21, 2014. The total number of blood bags that were collected from this year's events were 699 bags. PT. Ungaran Sari Garments successfully managed to donate 10,035 blood bags from the year 2004 to 2014.

On the same occasion, the Indonesian Red Cross delivered awards to employees who have donated their blood for a total of ten times.

Employees Welfare Development

Improving Skills with Gemba Academy

It is the commitment of PT. Ungaran Sari Garments to provide growth opportunities for all the employees. One of its efforts is the collaboration with Gemba Academy from the USA. They provide online training on an ongoing basis to Lean Six Sigma training in an attractive and informative way. Employees who participate in the event are able to apply the knowledge to their daily work in the factory. In addition to the Gemba Academy training, PT. Ungaran Sari Garments also provides the opportunity to develop the sewing operators to become future leaders who have the knowledge and skills in accordance with their respective departments. The program is called “Upgrading Line Leader Training”, and it started in 2006. This year, the training took place from November 2013 until February 2014 with 34 employees as participants.

New employee orientation programs were implemented in several areas: in training classrooms, in the production areas to see the production process directly, and in outdoor gardens to grow employees’ appreciation for the natural environment.

Lean Six Sigma is a process improvement programme that combines two ideas:

improving the quality of products and services substantially contributing to increased

customer satisfaction

Energy Sustainability

Energy Management System Pilot Company Project PT. Ungaran Sari Garments registered for the Energy Management System Pilot Company Project facilitated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the Industrial Ministry of Indonesia. This company project is in line with ISO50001. The project kick off meeting was held on June 13, 2014, attended by the PT. Ungaran Sari Garments team, International Expert Michael Doyle from Ireland, the UNIDO National Project Coordinator and National Expert Candidates.

Local Community Care

Donation Event "Hamlet Alms"

In May 2014, PT. Ungaran Sari Garments gave a monetary donation in support of a "Hamlet Alms" event. This event was held as an act of gratitude by the local villagers to what had been given by God Almighty. In this celebration, praying together was the main event; the celebration also featured a leather puppet show of Central Java. This event was held in Kradjan Hamlet which is located 1 kilometer from the Pringapus unit of PT. Ungaran Sari Garments.

Mosque Construction Donation

PT. Ungaran Sari Garments provides assistance to two mosques nearby. The first support was 10 bags of cement for the construction of Masjid Al-Barokah and cash donations to the Masjid Al-Mukhyiddin. Both of the contributions were submitted on June 23, 2014 by representatives of our factory management.
