Strong candidates across a wide range of education sectors (districts, non-profits, tech, academia, or research) will have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas: Advancement of knowledge through research, teaching, publications, or technology as it relates to the interdisciplinary field of education Commitment to dynamic, high-quality educational practice at the classroom, school site, or district level as a teacher, principal, or district leader Dedication to underserved and low-resourced student populations Innovation in addressing a timely issue or challenge in education Leadership in educational policy at the local, state, federal, or international level Nominations for all GSE alumni, from recent graduates to those with more established careers, are welcome. Nominations are due April 8, 2019 by 11:59 pm Pacific. The GSE Alumni Excellence in Education Award will be presented at the GSE Alumni Award Reception during Reunion Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 25, 2019. We strongly encourage that award recipients attend the award reception in person. A travel stipend is available to award recipients who need to travel to Stanford from beyond the San Francisco Bay Area. This award program is led by a group of dedicated Stanford GSE alumni who are partnering with the school to strengthen and engage the GSE alumni community by recognizing the outstanding contributions of GSE trained teachers, principals, scholars, innovators, and education leaders.
