The camp open house provides an opportunity for the girl(s) and her parents/guardians to explore camp, visit the camp sites, and receive information before camp begins. Please remember that exploring camp means walking. Wear comfortable closed toed shoes and casual clothing. This is your chance to explore camp. No need to register; come and visit us.

Register for a resident camp session at any Open House, using our computers, and receive a $20 credit! Registration assistance is available for online registration; paper registration accepted only from non-GSLE girls at www.gsle.org.

Girl Scout summer camp is an amazing experience for

girls! Your Girl Scout will grow more confident and self-

assured every day, as she makes new friends, tries new

things, and discovers just how awesome it feels to be

outdoors and active!

Girls can dive into a whole new world of activities at Girl

for your girl! No matter what program she chooses,

priority Registration:This opportunity is perfect for girls who want to guarantee their group’s placement in a desired session; or for an individual who wants to secure her spot! At priority registration, council staff will assist you in the online registration process; you will have access to council laptops or tablets (or bring your own!) and internet and will be placed in your desired session before general registration opens! Must be present to participate.

Join us at the Regional Office on 2/16 from 1-8 p.m. or at the Headquarter Office on 2/18 from 1-8 p.m.

Take your first stroke to becoming a more confident swimmer by participating in water games and activities. me & my gal Spend three days with the woman you admire most! Go on a trust hike together, make jewlery, and canoe around the lake! You will enjoy many other activities like archery (Juniors+), swimming, horseback riding (Juniors+) or pony rides (Brownies), and the low ropes course. This is a staff-led event in which “campers” (adults and girls) will follow the lead of their facilitators during activities. Adults are responsible for the supervision of their own camper during activities, downtime,andkapers.Limit:eachgirlmaybringonefemaleadult.Participantswillbe grouped for activities/lodging depending on the camper’s grade level. pony up Still trying to figure out where you fit in the horse world? No problem! This progressive equine session is just what you need. Begin the week with a pony ride to get the feel of horses. Throughout the week you will grow by learning about ground safety, grooming, leading, and feeding! Beginner and advanced riders will spend their time at the barn perfecting their horsemanship skills such as grooming, saddling, and riding at the walk, trot, and lope. Once you become comfortable, you will spend time kicking up your heels on the trails and even tie up your horse for a sack lunch! In anticipation of a camper’s attendance, various expenses are incurred on her behalf, such as supplies, equipement, registration and camp staffing costs. accordingly, there is a $50 cancellation fee for each session canceled at the customer’s request. If the council cancels the session, no fee is applied.

fORMs dueAll forms are due to the Resident Camp registrar at Headquarters three weeks prior to the start of the session. Forms can be found in the mailed confirmation packet or online at www.gsle.org. The forms due three weeks before the session are Camper Information Sheet, Health Form filled out by a licensed physician, and Camper Fun Form. The forms due atcampcheck-inaretheTradingPostFormandMedication Administration Form.

RefundsPartialrefunds(less$50cancellationfee)maybegiven in some instances and are considered on a case by case basis. Written requests for a refund must be received by the council at least three weeks prior to the opening day of the session. A partial refund (less $50 cancellation fee) may be secured if the council receives a written certificate from a licensed M.D. stating she is unable to attend her camp session or if there is a family emergency.

No refund will be given if a camper is sent home due to unacceptable behavior or homesickness. Full refunds will only be issued for sessions canceled by the council.

CaMp finanCiaL assisTanCe Financial assistance is available for one camp session to those demonstrating financial need and will be a percentage of the session fee. Camp Financial assistance Request applications are due by march 1, 2016. After this date funds may be limited, but applications will be accepted for review. If you wish to request financial assistance, please complete the form and attach it to your daughter’s registrationform.Paymentarerequired with a completed financial assistance form. Return the confidential application with your daughter’s camp registration form. Only girls registered with the Girl Scouts Louisiana East council are eligible for financial assistance.

Girl Scouts Louisiana East serves the parishes of Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Jefferson,Lafourche,Livingston,orleans,Plaquemines,PointeCoupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana. It is funded by voluntary philanthropic contributions, the cookie and fall product sales, fees for services, and the United Way in selected parishes.

Accreditation means that each camp undergoes a thorough review process by outside camping professionals every three years. Our Girl Scout camps consistently achieve the highest standards in the areas of personnel, program, site administration, and health care.

Bring a friend! non-Girl scouts welcome!Girl Scout summer camp is for every girl, even those not yet in Girl Scouts! For girls new to Girl Scouting, simply include the $15 annual national membership dues along with the camp session fees and Resident Camp registration form at www.gsle.org.

Who are the camp counselors?Our counselors are selected based on their program skills, maturity, education, caring attitude, and experience with children. Counselors are primarily college students, both female and male, with male counselors housed in separate quarters. Program areas, such as ropes course, horses, swimming and boating, are directed by certified and trained staff. All of our staff must successfully complete pre-camp staff training, pass background screening and become members of Girl Scouts of the USA.
