*he election campaign had a slow start, gaining only limited momentum during the lasweek *he four registered political parties and their candidates could begin campaigninas soon as they were registered with the !#! !andidates met the electorate in eventsorganized mainly in public buildings, in co-operation with the local mahalla mall powere displayed at these events 7eaflets and brochures were also distributed at votermeetings, including small calendars with the photograph of the contestant In towns ancities, all parties posted billboards during the last week of the campaign everal talk-shows with candidates were broadcast on *@, as well as debates between candidatesfrom different parties *he election law tasks the !#! with ensuring e3ual conditions focandidates to participate in the electoral campaign !ampaign funds were to bee=clusively channelled through the !#! $ Haldun YAVA %
